Senior Business Analyst/VP Level

Our client is leading International Bank, their products and services include advisory, financing, prime services, research and analysis, securities services, trading and sales and transaction banking. Successful owner of this role will be a senior SME /Business Analyst would work with global teams and bridge IT with Business.

Business Analyst (BA) will be acting as the Subject Matter Expert bridging IT with Business. BA will be responsible for capturing & translated business requirement, providing key analysis and proposing GB&M system solution in response to requirement from Finance business by work closely with project managers, business users, development & testing team both regionally and globally.

The responsibility for Business Analyst are :

- Provide leadership, guidance, best practice roll out and support to local BAs in the Finance Control project teams

- Work closely with finance users to collect and analyse business requirements for the various finance/accounting initiatives. Define product scope, data sources and detailed business rules. Build good working relationships with other IT departments, specifically Finance control as well as business users globally

- Understand the system data flows from Front to Back in relevance to Finance Control including the analysis of front-office trading and back-office systems from a data sourcing perspective using DSL/UC to ensure attribute coverage to drive accounting and project data requirements. Assist in building enhancements to upstream systems and interfaces into proposed downstream Finance systems ie Liquidity, CorB3, Reconciliation Engines etc

- Develop proof-of-concept or prototypes to help crystallize business rules, processes and functions.

- Assist in the functional design of the system solution. Liaise with development teams to deliver and implement system solutions.

- Work closely with the business accounting rules team to understand the data and events that are required from data sourcing to drive the accounting process required in projects

- Understand the direction of Finance strategic architecture and seek to ensure alignment for all in flight projects. Work with the London team to leverage analysis and IT components already implemented for the UK and other regions.

- Review and assist in preparing test packs. Provide input to test plans and testing strategies. Conduct system tests and provide support in user acceptance tests.

- Provide lead assistance for seeding / conversion for projects

- Support downstream system feed requirements both from a data attribute perspective and functional behaviors.

- Support Downstream extract functional design for producing the required feeds.

- Provide input to project planning meetings. Provide cover for project managers and input to project plans, status and risk/issue management.

Essentials :

- Broad knowledge across one or more Global Markets products from a trade attribute and life-cycle event across asset classes

- Experience of working on finance projects, i.e. Sub-ledgers/General Ledgers, Accounting Rules set-up

- Knowledge of trade life cycle and events through the finance process in an investment bank or consultancy

- Must have at least 10+ years- experience in the financial services sector of which the last 3 years was in carrying out a project business analysis role.

- Self-starter and highly motivated

- Experience of leading functional teams

- Experience and ability to make functional design/implementation decisions

- Experience in capturing, analyzing and documenting functional & non-functional requirements (- 7 years)

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and spoken) comfortable with detail
