VP - Risk & Control
Key Deliverables :
Leading and driving India's Risk Management Plans :
- Providing strong oversight and challenge to the functional teams
- Maintaining the functional risk profile and managing the Risk Appetite of the business
- Working with the business to define and monitor Key Risk Indicators
- Ensuring compliance with Operational Risk and Sarbanes Oxley policies or Basel II or Basel III
- Supporting delivery of all Operational Risk reporting to the Group Chief Accountant's Risk and Control Unit(RCU)
- Monitoring of changes in the Group Policy Framework and assessment of their implications for the business
- Maintaining the existing high profile of the Risk Framework across India, supporting appropriate communication and training programmes
- Actively participate in Finance-wide risk and control forums
- Ad hoc investigation and reporting in response to emerging risks and issues and/or developments in Group Policy
- Stakeholder Management-Head of Financial Control and CIB Decision Support and their teams, Internal and External Auditors
- Supporting development and delivery of training material (as required) to support continued awareness of Group Policy Framework / SOX / Accounting Model developments across India
- Working with the business in supporting Transition and Change activities and executing the Change Risk Assessment methodology
- Be part of a small, highly-motivated and energized team, who deliver outstanding results

People Management Responsibilities :
- Provide effective leadership and management for the team.
- Support other team members of staff who are responsible for understanding business issues and deal with enquiries in a professional manner
- Help develop individuals- knowledge and skills through training / coaching/ Mentoring
- Ensure attrition rates remain in line
- Lead training needs analysis review for the team and ensure relevant learning solutions are put in place.
- Ensure the team is fully resourced with the relevant skill set and experience
Essential :
- Basic knowledge of investment banking products and processes
- Good analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to identify control gaps, challenge status quo and decision making capability to suggest remediation plan
- Working in an environment with a strong control focus
- Good communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Accountancy, Reconciliations or Audit background and a strong grasp of the BSV principles
- Graduate, qualified accountant desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Intermediate / Advanced)
- Intellectual curiosity and tenacity in achieving results
- Excellent knowledge of English, both written and verbal
- Able to prioritize tasks dynamically and multitask
- Ambitious with a strong appetite to understand and question the controls/control gaps in the process.
- Excellent understanding of full front to back setup within investment banking (systems, processes, functions)
- Team player with the skills to help in developing the team and meet the business objectives
- Proven analytical skills; able to break down complex problems into their core components

Qualifications :
- Professional Accounting Qualification (CA / CPA / CIMA) with between 10-12 years post-qualifying experience
- Previous experience of having lead audit / Internal control / Operational Risk teams
- Excellent knowledge of English, both written and verbal
