VP/Manager - Sourcing & Merchandising - eCommerce Startup

Organization Name: New Start Up (Ecommerce with Offline Experience Centres)

Title: VP Sourcing & Merchandising (1 Post) and Merchandising Manager (1 Post)

Reporting to: COO

Job Profile:

- Experience in merchandising & sourcing of furniture and decor

- Determine the procurement cost and negotiates with the vendors to ensure cost effectiveness for better % intake

- Ensure legal compliances are adhered to by the vendors & suppliers and the regional sourcing teams

- Collaborate with the respective category's buying team for clear understanding of the product

- Define & develop sourcing strategy based on the range plan

- Develop the new product by cascading the requirement to the respective regional sourcing teams and guiding them to comply with the requirement

- Ensure continuous availability of core & replenishment merchandise of respective category handled, through follow-up on orders, issues & deliveries with vendors & regional sourcing teams.

- Undertake vendor management on a continuous basis, by analyzing the existing vendor; develop new vendors as per vendor-gap and visit them in the event of delivery deviations

- Guide & develop the regional sourcing teams on process implementations & improvements at the regions to ensure region-wise growth, introductions of new products and align regional goals to the overall sourcing strategy

- Visit brand store, competition stores or exhibitions fortnightly, for upgrading product knowledge and understanding latest technology, new products & new suppliers

Qualifications:

- For VP a management degree in addition to the basic qualification of a degree. For Manager a degree preferably from a NID, NIFT, Pearl Academy or IICD with experience in furniture & d- cor.

- Excellent Oral and Written communication skills in English and Hindi

- Should have global sourcing experience preferably having worked with Italian or European products

Preferences:

- Experience in having worked with an ecommerce model in furniture and d- cor is highly preferred

- Deep knowledge of product, process and vendor management

- Process Knowledge (Manufacturing process, consumption, gauge, lead time for production, quality parameters, costing knowledge)

- Engage and work with a wide range of teams

- Desire to always do more in a start-up environment

- Should be conversant with MS Office

Salary:

For both posts it is negotiable and will include ESOPS.
