VP - Government Relationship Mgmt - BFSI

Responsibilities

- Developing the business plan, determining the resource allocation, the infrastructure requirement for the government relationship management function and assisting in setting up of the credit management/operations/loan administration systems for government/PSU clients of the bank

- Development of highly strategic government (ministries)/PSU relationships both at the central and the state level

- Establish Banks equity with key decision makers/stakeholders in the GOI/State Government administration for garnering the government business currently handled by the PSU banks

- Articulation of customer requirements to the product teams and work closely for product development to ensure customer needs are met

- Co-ordinate with financial markets, investment banking and retail banking teams to ensure synergies in cross selling products to government/PSU customers

- Achievement of the targets set out in the budget for the year for Government Relationship Management (overall and product wise)

- Responsible for management/recovery/NPAs for this cluster of customers

- Determining the skills and manning levels required for effective delivery of services

Essential competencies

- In depth knowledge of the working of the GOI/State Governments/PSUs and nuances of relationship management with key influencers in the bureaucracy

- In depth knowledge of government banking marketing concepts & experience in developing, launching and scaling up funded/advisory product lines

- Demonstrated ability in building solutions for the niche business segments – government business, PSUs

- Entrepreneurial thinking

- Demonstrated ability to drive results and be very effective in a matrix organization

- Understanding of technology in banking

Qualifications and relevant experience

- A CA/MBA from a reputed institute

- Around 9-12 years of banking experience

- Experience of interaction with government ministries at Central/State levels is a must
