VP CDD (Customer Due Diligence) / FATCA Operations for an MNC Banking BPO in Bangalore.

Job Description :

Supporting 4 Global Businesses, Banking Operations Business Service provides service to customers through Account Opening, Account Servicing and Termination processes. It also leads wide engagement with global lines of business on design & the successful deployment of Global Standards - CDD Programme & FATCA which are key imperatives for the group. With global headcount of 7500 and cost base of USD 230 M, it’s amongst the top 3 business services in terms of scale and is critical to overall success.

- Working closely with Program Leads in the CDD Programme, Global Line of Business Leads, Service Delivery Management & Change Delivery teams within countries and regions, the jobholder will provide inputs on Business Processes, Systems & Resource capabilities and requirements to ensure the successful deployment of the Global Standards – a key imperative for the group.

- The individual will be at the forefront of key regulatory changes, ensuring proactive communication with business and leading global operational delivery on account of HSBC Financial Crime and Customer Due Diligence policy and framework.

- The Global Standards Programme has three sub-programmes and there are several work streams across the three sub-programmes. The sub-programmes are:

Customer Due Diligence: developing an integrated framework to manage financial crime risk more effectively across the complete customer lifecycle. This includes Affiliates Due Diligence; Tax Transparency; Bearer Shares Customer Selection and Exit Policy.

Financial Crime Compliance: creating a consistent, flexible and scalable Compliance organisation and the Financial Crime Risk controls to make sure we meet all DPA and other regulatory obligations.

Financial Intelligence: building our capabilities in capturing and use of customer and transactional level data to identify suspicious transactions, activity or connections.

Principal Accountabilities

- The role is to provide leadership and assist with the implementation / deployment of both Projects within at Offshore Utilities and where required at on shore locations.

- Understand business strategy (global and local), and ensure alignment of the requirements, operating models by providing & leading deployment solutions / options.

- Engage with all stakeholders at regional, country, product and client group. Wherever possible proactively adds value to the business by providing consultancy services at various points of the process to build engagement during the Project phase.

- This role holder provide Business Process Expertise in all aspects of CDD processes including Process Design and Deployment.

- Build strong working relationships across Regional / Country SD teams and business contacts within regions/countries and work closely with Change Delivery Teams in GSD and regions to ensure to ensure smooth implementation / deployment of processes on all CDD projects.

Experience & Skills :

- PG in Management / Commerce / Accounting having 14 - 20 years of experience with a strong experience in Customer Due Diligence (CDD) / FATCA / Financial Crime Process in Banking BPOs / Banks.

- Experience in a consulting leadership role, considerable years of diverse experience and a variety of skills related to managing change, business or operations and people.

- Extensive working knowledge of functional area in a business, operational or consulting capacity, demonstrated business knowledge, with experience in successful deployment of complex processes.

- Extensive working knowledge and history of working in a Banking environment. Knowledge of Banking platforms is an advantage.

- Possess highly effective communication and relationship building skills to be able to build and maintain strong relationships across range of stakeholders within business teams.

- Have an excellent knowledge of the project lifecycle as well as a wide knowledge of operations, project management and staff management experience.

- A strong team player, focused on project / team success rather than on individual brilliance.

- Ability to execute at pace with high focus on results; while managing multiple priorities.

- Ability to challenge the status quo and drive change, through proactive engagement of all stakeholders.

- Strong ability to positively influence a thought process and a debate.

- Ability to work under pressure in a matrix environment with conflicting demands.

- Analytical capability to objectively assess a business problem and provide viable solutions.

- Role requires frequent international travel and flexible work timings to cover multiple time zones.
