Objective / Purpose:  To give Local Audit Committees and Senior Management risk based independent assurance of the effectiveness of the internal controls within the company.  Strategy:  - Contribute to identification and assessment of business risks for Vodafone India and formulate risk based audit plan  - Ensure assurance on adequacy of the mitigation plans / controls established by the Management  Audits:  - Plan and deliver Vodafone India Audit Plan as per the IA Methodology   - Provide support to local management and address local management assurance objectives without compromising the overall objectives of Vodafone Internal Audit.  - Ensure compliance with Group IA Standards in planning, executing, delivery and maintenance of on-line / off-line records / database  Audit planning & identification of high risk areas for greater focus:  - contribute to the development of the Group Internal Audit plan for Vodafone India Limited by establishing risk-based plans to determine the priorities of the internal audit activity that are consistent with the organisation's goals  Deliver management advice & reporting to provide early warning of potential control problems:  - Ensure that reports are prepared on a timely basis for delivery to the management teams of the respective businesses  - Provide regular feedback/reporting to the AVP Audit to update them on the results of recent audits and emerging issues, significant control weaknesses and the state of the control environment within the company  - Pro-actively develop relationships with key stakeholders across Vodafone that fosters acceptance and buy in to audit goals and therefore create a positive acceptance of the audit process and outcomes  Improve Vodafone audit methodology & efficiency:  - identify, recommend and implement operational improvements to internal audit processes  - support the strategic audit planning process by suggesting changes to the GPM and providing input on high risk areas  - provide feedback and input on the globally mandated audit procedures and tools to ensure that they continue to identify all current legal and/or commercial risk and thus provide assurance to the commercial interests of shareholders  - when conducting reviews outside of the available global tools, implement effective audit procedures to ensure that relevant legal and commercial risks are identified  Sarbanes Oxley:  - Monitor and provide quality assurance over the delivery of the Sarbanes Oxley control framework  Statutory Obligations  Business Partnering:  - Ensure implementation of the Audit recommendations and value add / control enhancement through actively partnering with the Business  - Cross Functional participation to drive common control objectives  - Engagement with Business / Functional Heads in various initiatives  Mandatory Qualifications: CA / CPA  Mandatory:  - Audit/Accounting background. Business, Accounting and/or Economic Degree ideal, prefer completed CPA / CA qualification or equivalent with approx 6-8 years post qualification experience   - Experience in managing team and leading complex assignments / projects  - Strong knowledge of internal audit methodology  - Demonstrated capability to share independent / unbiased views of business, internal controls  - Ability to influence through strong business knowledge and insight and demonstration of value add to the business  General audit skills, including:  - Understanding of financial, process and IT controls  - Understanding established risk management frameworks, eg COSO
