Role purpose: Establish Mpesa as a Best in Class Payments platform across the Industry. Deliver the strategic objectives of - Enabling Payments- as part of the overall Mpesa Strategy in the 3 year timeframe.  Establish the merchant channel : Offline merchants : direct tie up and through aggregators/Physical merchant Networks   Key accountabilities and decision ownership   - Build up a list of Alliances/tie ups with offline merchants /merchant networks having presence at pan India  - Sign up key merchants merchant networks at a commercially viable rate  - Work closely with product/IT & customer service team to on board merchants /billers / s successfully  - Coordinate and Guide Circle teams with sign up of offline merchants.  - Create monthly product update - to be sent out to all stake holders regularly as per decided schedule.   Core competencies, knowledge and experience   - Should have experience of signing up merchants for credit/debit cards acceptance through EDC terminals / payment applications and managing the day to day relationship with merchants  - Should have an understanding of signup process, documentation and merchant on boarding.  - Should have basic understanding of the capabilities of POS /EPOS/MPOS networks. (card acceptance networks)  - Should be able to create, circulate and track business MIS.   - Should have experience in coordinating with stake holders at corporate office and regions/ circle and vendors/partners  Must have technical / professional qualifications:   Graduate / MBA   Technical background will be an added advantage  Budget owned:   Key performance indicators   1.
