Position: Vice President - Water, Operations

Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer

Location: Mumbai

Job Summary :

The Vice President for Water, Operations at a leading Infrastructure Company will be an experienced leader with a proven track record of successfully leading execution of Water division across the geographies. This position offers exciting challenges and opportunities for managing engineering and project execution activities related to Water Treatment Plants and complete street planning/design. The successful candidate will use their technical, management and leadership skills and be responsible for the agreed profitability of the projects.

Job Responsibility :

- Leadership, growth and development of a leading Infrastructure Company in water adding value to the established excellence.

- Leading and directing the Project Management and execution team for timely delivery within budgeted cost, which includes a diverse team size, multiple projects, locations in the Water & Waste Water Management Projects and Treatment Plants for Water, Waste Water, Sewerage and Effluents of wide variety.

- Preparation of proposal and designs at feasibility, planning and detailed design stages and identifying and leading on added value, sustainable engineering and lean initiatives relating to Water Execution.

- Creating and providing technical direction and updates to people, stakeholder, cross functional teams, clients, contractors and third parties.

- Managing project delivery including financial management and monitoring and people/team management and building world-class organization.

- Project manage within agreed budget, scope, programme and quality constraints set for the specific/multiple project(s) and deliver the benefits within the business case compliant with standards agreed with clients and others project management procedures and processes.

- Be responsible for creating culture of excellence and provide directions for Business processes to monitor and control project performance through the use of applicable project management tools i.e. risk and issue management, escalation criteria, project tolerances and KPI's.

- Produce formal project progress and financial reports for management team and external use as necessary. This includes supporting and reporting to the Business Head in Water business matters of the water division.

- Procure specialist expertise, advice and guidance regarding engineering, safety, compliance, quality and operations for the design and delivery of works as necessary.

- Be the point of contact on Freedom of Information matters relating to the project(s).

Job Education, Experience and Competencies :

- Should be Engineer with relevant specialization.

- Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience majorly in Construction, Project Management and Operations of Water Treatment Plants (WTPs), Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs) and Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTPs) and preferable with House Service Connection (HSC) implementation.

- Proven track record in successful implementation of projects and evidence of increasing profitability of the delivered projects.

- Must be highly matured enough to manage various stakeholders and construction operational challenges.

- Developed leadership, planning and negotiation skills, with ability to multi task and deal with multi-disciplined problems and issues in a changing environment and make timely sound decisions as the project progresses.

- Strong verbal/written skills, and ability to convey complex information in a constructive manner.

- Must be conversant in English, Hindi and other local language will be desirable.

- Must be hard task master, quick decision maker, positive thinker, strong executive presence and delivers high quality construction work proactively.

- Experience in contract management, negotiation, claims assessment or similar with the ability to administrate and prepare the necessary documentation in support of this.

- Motivated, committed and results orientated, with a desire to achieve results and reach targets.

- Identification of risk, mitigation actions required and mitigation implementation particularly affecting project delivery and achievement of required outcomes.

- Understanding, assessing and implementing corrective action for factors affecting project performance and should be able to take decision on the fly and in quick turn around time.

- Management of multi-disciplined professionals, both internal and external, for all stages in project life-cycles, including construction and other forms of implementation.

- Financial management of projects and budget compliance and reporting.

- Must be an expert in MS office, Auto CAD and relevant construction tools.

- Excellent in negotiating and persuasive skills, both in one-on-one or group discussions.
