This is only possible with around 10,000 truly exceptional people across our group worldwide.  About the role  The main focus of this role would be to lead the Market Risk Management team in Bangalore (part of a multi-location team) and act as lead market risk manager for Emerging Markets, Market Risk Governance and Market Risk Analytics. You will be responsible for:  - Market Risk Governance: Support Head MRM in:  ensuring that documentation of market risk standards remains up to date, and timely and appropriate input is provided into other relevant risk standards  ensuring that governance standards in relation to market risk accumulation controls are adhered to, and the notification protocols are followed  Also ensure that the Bangalore team maintains the Market Risk infrastructure, including SharePoint, governance documents, tracking limits and triggers, etc.  - Market Risk Reporting: Lead risk reporting processes for Market Risk Managements input into joint senior executive reporting, particularly input into MRM's contributions to Financial Risk Management's senior risk reports:  Co-ordinate market risk inputs into relevant aspects of senior management reporting; manage production of regular financial market risk report.  Lead the production of Market Risk Management weekly risk report that supports the weekly Financial Market Risk Council (chief weekly business and risk discussion forum for market risk issues across   Manage MRM submissions to FRM reporting, strongly liaising with FRM Governance & Reporting team.  Provide integrated editing support to Head of MRM for final submissions.  Proactively suggest and develop key themes for reports.  - Market Risk Analytics: Ensure that the MRM Bangalore team supports the lead risk managers in:  Monitoring and reporting market risk exposures versus limits of externally managed asset portfolios, to capture changes in positions, pricing & underlying risks  Maintaining and reviewing key risk metrics that capture the impact of financial market risks.  Identifying the key risks associated with specific trading strategies and positions under the guidance of lead Market Risk Managers and providing actionable feedback on events, positions and issues which impact the risk profile of these portfolios  - Emerging Market oversight coordination: Support MRM in Asian Emerging Market coverage:  Be a key content expert for market risks in the Asia region, including China and India  Work collaboratively with both with MRM regional responsible teams as well as the functional risk teams covering global credit, country, equity, rates and FX to bring emerging and significant risks to the attention of senior management  Support regional risk management teams in the EM regions in providing market risk related inputs; contribute to regular and ad-hoc reporting  - Leadership initiatives  Participate as member of Market Risk Management's executive leadership team as well as Financial Risk Management's extended leadership teams.  Support global (FRM) and local (RM Bangalore) management in key leadership initiatives, including talent assessment, skill development, and other employee engagement initiatives.  About the team  Make a difference in your career journey with one of the biggest reinsurance company in the world with 12,000+ diverse employees in over 60 offices worldwide. You will be joining the Financial Risk Management team as Team Lead, Market Risk Management Bangalore.  About You  Post - graduate in Economics or Sciences or an MBA from a Tier 1 educational institute  9-15 years of relevant industry experience including exposure to international financial markets, preferably across asset classes  Experience with managing teams of individual contributors  Professional qualifications such as CFA /FRM are desirable, but not necessary  Analytical skills with strong problem solving capabilities  Sound conceptual foundation in basics of economics, understanding of financial markets and risk management concepts and practices  Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a clear and articulate standard of written and verbal English communication in a complex environment  Self-starter with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders in an international, multi-cultural and diverse environment; prioritize effectively and deal with occasional ambiguity.  Ability to manage a small team of skilled, junior market risk analysts / associates  Good IT know-how (excel, data-modelling skills) and data-visualization capabilities using excel and/or power pivot is a definite plus
