Looking for a VP Legal

Looking for a specialized VP Legal to serve one of the premier vocational training institutes in India; handle all complex legal matters and projects. You will ensure the legality of commercial transactions and advise our company on legal rights and duties.

The position is located in Delhi.

What are my responsibilities :

- Consult and handle all corporate legal processes (e.g. intellectual property, mergers & acquisitions, financial/securities offerings, compliance issues, transactions, agreements, lawsuits, patents)

- Sound knowledge of civil, criminal, commercial, consumer disputes, laws relating trademarks, copyright & other intellectual property rights and labour laws.

- Develop company policy and position on legal issues

- Research, anticipate and guard company against legal risks

- Should have thorough knowledge of contract/agreement drafting Structure, draft and review reports and other legal documents

- Represent company in legal proceedings (administrative boards, court trials etc.)

- Ability to interact independently with Advocates, Govt. and Police Authorities.

- Must be having capabilities and competence to head Legal Department of the Company.

- While the position is based in Delhi, the incumbent should be open to travel any part of the Country for 10-14 days in a month and if required, even for more days.

What do I need to qualify for this job-

- Law graduate (LL.B) from a reputed university with good academic credentials

- Proven comparable 14-18 years of experience out of which at least 3 years of working at GM/AVP level in reputed organizations.

- Proven background on corporate law (contract law, tax law, accounting, securities law, bankruptcy, intellectual property rights, licensing, zoning laws)

- Must be a Leader and very good in Planning & Execution of Legal strategies.

- Excellent negotiation and communications skills

- Administrative and managerial skills

- Analytical ability and strong attention to detail

- Computer skills

- Current licence to practise law
