Job Description :
Job Title: GM- Projects
Division: Projects & Maintenance
Reports to: Sr. VP Operations Level / Grade
Job purpose:
Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and review. Accomplishing project objectives by planning and evaluating project activities
Primary responsibilities:
- Preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
- Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions
- Develop and ensure adherence to project plan, costing for the year and responsible for timely start and execution of all project work
- Ensure all government and local authorities approvals are in place for project commencement
- Responsible for project management and sharing reports with management related to project progress and costing
- Negotiate with project agencies/suppliers for quality work execution at minimum cost to the organization
- Hand over the completed projects to retail operations team and ensure work is as per the quality standards defined
- Responsible for maintenance of existing facilities which includes outlets, warehouses and office complex to ensure smooth business operations and customer experience
- Ensure that all indentified gaps regarding store infrastructure captured in the store audit report are resolved and take necessary steps to ensure no future occurrences
- Monitor proper maintenance and working of essential support facilities at the outlets like generators, panels and air conditioning
- Ensure regular maintenance and uptime of electrical and mechanical facilities at various retail outlets and warehouse facilities
- Understand requirements for various outlets to improve infrastructure and customer experience keeping in mind the regional preference as well
- Identifying various options to improve customer comfort and experience through up gradation/ expansion or change in layout of infrastructure at outlets
- Train and develop competencies of all employees. Maintain effective relationship with managers and team within the function
- Ensure that staff are developed, trained, motivated, evaluated for job performance and compensated fairly
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Education:
Minimum qualification : Graduation or diploma equivalent in Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering, preferably MBA or masters in the relevant field of study
Key Skills and Attributes :
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, numerical, commercial awareness and organizational skills
- Expertise in managing multiple projects and has had budget responsibility
- Effective influencing, reporting, vendor management and negotiation skills
- Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision, an organized and thorough approach to work
