Department : Wines   Position : Unit Head - Wines   Supervisor's Position : Business Head, Wines   Lcoation: Baramathi ( Pune)  Role Purpose :  - This role is responsible for planning, leading, directing and controlling the day-to-day operations of the Winery including all aspects of finance, human resources, materials, production and process activities, vineyard activities and grape arrangement as per targets of the unit.   - The role focuses on achieving the Unit production targets, delivery schedules, quality & competitive output, turnover & cost reduction in line with the budget, compliance, excise, quality, EHS and other parameters and guidelines laid down by the organization and region.   OPERATING NETWORK :  - Subordinate Role   - Function/ Section Heads, Administration  Other Roles/Teams WITHIN the Function :  - HR & Administration, F&A, Hospitality,   - Divisions/ Departments OUTSIDE the Function   - Procurement, Projects, EHS, Legal, Compliance   External Interface :  - TMUs, Customers, Vendors, Dealers, Government authorities, Trade/ Excise bodies, Farmers & Their Associations (if any)   Qualification : B.Sc/ BE /B Tech, MBA (Operations Management)/ PGDBA   Experience :  - 15-20 years experience in Alco-Bev or FMCG industry   Knowledge & skills :  - Knowledge on Business processes of Wines  - Knowledge of FSMS /TQM / EMS,   - Thorough Working Knowledge of Unit Operations/Operations Management, Trade Unions  - Basic understanding of company laws   - Knowledge of Statutory Compliances - Labour, Tax, Excise Regulations and related laws  - Experience in Planning and Managing Warehouse Operations  - Knowledge of standard safety practices and procedures relating to warehouse operations, and Plant.  - Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with line personnel, public contacts, vendors and City department representatives.   AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY/PERFORMANCE MEASURES (QUANTITATIVE / QUALITATIVE) :  Manufacturing & Productivity :  - Develop the Production strategy & Plan via improvements in layouts/ machines/ manpower to meet projected needs  - Order Execution & Annual Production Plan via resource optimization  - Take sourcing decisions related to capacity and requirements  - Set and Monitor Productivity Improvement measures against targets  - Ensure Materials efficiency to maintain/reduce cost  Sourcing of RM and Grapes :  - Ensure Grapes availability to meet Wine Making requirements as per Varieties keeping eye on logistics and final costs  - Ensure all documentation done with Farmers and commercial transaction completed post supplies.  - Providing necessary Technical supports to Farmers.   Quality & Systems Management :  - Ensure quality product manufacturing, layouts, material flow, housekeeping & conformance to Health, Safety and Environment standards, Quality Management   - Lead and review improvement actions in production process based on feedback, audit reports   - Lead the drive for EMS / EHS & FSMS certifications in the Unit.  People Management :  - Supervise, guide and maintain discipline; resolve internal problems; and communicate change working systems   - Identify training needs and initiate training   - Identify, recognize and recommend rewards for performance in order to motivate the workforce and ensure smooth working  - Liaison with local government bodies (Excise, Labour Commission etc)   - Implement and monitor Value Survey actions
