Business Context and Main Purpose of the Role

This main purpose of this role is to:

- Develop the Solution Building Blocks and Solution Design Principles aligned with the overall Solution Architecture & Roadmap, thereby improving solution standardization and better lifecycle management.

- Maintaining and facilitating relationships with technology vendors & service providers to align solution standards & design with industry & technology best practices.

Main Accountabilities

Capability Architects EMBED the Solutions emerging from the Enterprise Innovation team into ACTIVATE and OPERATE teams for capability deployment.

- Convert Solution Architecture to Solution Strategy

- Embed Solution Strategy into Solution capability through Solution Design Principles (SDP) and Solution Building Blocks (SBB)

- Vendor Architect Engagement

- Partner Architect Engagement

- Other outsourced partners

- Build Solution Effectiveness (Rightsize & Optimize) for TCO and Service into Solution Design Principles

- Procurement Engagement to embed Value For Money within SDP’s where applicable

- Deliver required subject matter expertise (SME) to ACTIVATE Solution Design team (when required)

- Feedback challenges/issues during ACTIVATE & OPERATE phase to Innovators & Vendors

SBB’s and SDP’s are used by Solution Design team within ACTIVATE to:

a. Create Low Level Designs for landing services.

b. Validate & review solution proposed by Vendors/Partners/Manager Service Provider as part of ongoing demands.

- ACTIVATE Solution Design Team deployment of standard solution as per SBB/SDP to 80% of project requirements

- Continuous and timely updates to SBB/SDP aligned with best practices & lifecycle requirements Essential

- Experience of Solution Architecture design processes within assigned area of expertise. Minimum 5 years’ experience (2 years at a senior level) within assigned area of expertise

- Experience of working as part of a regional/global/virtual team

- Experience of gathering complex business requirements and balancing them across the enterprise

- Relevant Industry certifications/standards for delivery methodology, e.g. TOGAF, ITIL, etc.

Desirable:

- Complex business case development

- Successful track record in project management working on medium-large scale and/or complex projects

- Experience of operating services, ideally within assigned area of expertise

Statement of Work

- Manage the quality of solutions from a technical and commercial perspective

- Responsible for leading standardization of solutions and delivery for assigned area of expertise

- Work with Enterprise Innovation team on major technologies changes and opportunities to reduce costs.

- Acts as a key link between Enterprise Innovation and Geography IT teams (via ACTIVATE & OPERATE).

- Builds strong relationships across platforms to ensure converged solutions with end-to-end impact fully understood & planned.

- Own & develop “Solution Design Principles (SDP)” and “Solution Building Blocks (SBB)” for assigned area of expertise.

- Own & ensure Continuous improvement of SDP/SBB to ensure market, cost and service relevance.

- Conduct regular solution design reviews with Solution Design teams within Service Providers & ACTIVATE team.
