The job will include overseeing the management of rates, rules and calculations in the Tax Compliance applications; ensuring that rates, rules and calculations are provided to customers in a timely manner on a monthly basis; ensuring that the applications have the appropriate documentation supporting tax logic; and reviewing and approving all rate and rule changes in the applications. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work with our Development, Sales and Implementation teams, in integrating these rules into the applications and taking them out to targets and clients.  Tax Research Analyst is responsible for the following key duties :   - Creation and maintenance of India tax logic; rates, rules and calculations in the new ONESOURCE Compliance software.   - Working closely with the UK Operational Team - UK Tax Research Team and UK Product Management Team   - Certifying that the tax logic is correct and up-to-date for state responsibilities  - Ensuring that the applications have the appropriate documentation supporting tax logic   - Correspond with state and local tax authorities   - Reviewing all rate and rule changes in the specifications and software   - During QA cycle, tests software from business perspective to ensure development matches design, and final design meets needs of the user.   - Understands the business issues of India Tax Industry( VAT, Service Tax, Sales Tax, other Indirect tax )   - Monitor laws, legislative activity, and tax publications to stay abreast of tax changes.   - Updates International Tax Library of documentation.   - Document cross-border tax determination logic to law; identify tax issues; and manage or perform special projects as required.   - Provide recommendations on a wide variety of VAT Issues and communicate them in an understandable manner to non-tax professionals.   - Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner.   - Works with external reviewers and consultants on additional review and sign-off of tax logic if required   - Answers client and support queries on tax logic content for state responsibilities  - Communicates changes and any known issues to development team, tracking and reporting on in timely manner   Qualifications :   - 2-5 years of active work experience in "India Indirect Tax" is a mandate (VAT and/or Service Tax and/or CST) etc.  Skills :  - Ability to research tax laws governing all applicable taxes  - Knowledge of Advance Excel   - Superior communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.  - Superior writing skills;   - Ability to consistently meet rigid and recurring deadlines.  - Ability to quickly identify customer specific tax requirements and provide solutions.  - Experience in filing or preparation of India Indirect tax returns using any Indirect tax software.  HR Team,  Thomson Reuters.
