Taxation Ops Associate - Investment Bank

For a leading investment bank in Bangalore.

Role overview:

Oversee and manage relocation programs and related services to manage the firm’s mobile population. Additionally, provides support specific to reporting, tax, finance, policy and technology support.

Job Responsibilities:

- Review and analyze cost projections from a tax perspective

- Tax Compliance Reporting (Tax prep eligibility list, Tracking, Escalations), Days Tracking for Residency Purposes and Certificate of Coverage

- Work closely with tax vendors on expatriate tax matters – vendor management is a key part of the role

- Support the tax compliance effort while working with Corporate Tax, Compensation and Finance teams (e.g. implications on tax law amendments)

- Partner with technology team to manage system upgrades for tax logic, troubleshooting tax queries, etc.

- Support payroll administration from tax perspective (e.g. set-up for new countries, shadow payroll, split payroll)

- Manage the operational side of tax processes

- Produce tax metrics and reporting for senior management

Preferred Competencies:

- Strong understanding of income sourcing rules (taxability of income, tax residency)

- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail – an ability to review data, detect and correct errors, take responsibility for data quality

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other business related field

- At least five years of similar work experience - tax knowledge an advantage

- Strong Excel skills required
