Job Summary

Global Asset Services supports clients in 79 markets – Global Market Equities, Prime Finance, Emerging Markets, Fixed Income & Domestic Custody services. It has 650 professionals located in 31 cities. One of its largest and key operating hubs is based in DBOI Mumbai. The team in Mumbai provides support for front to back processing operations for all voluntary and mandatory events across multiple businesses in Investment Banking and Custody Operations.

The VP–Asset Services is a critical role and is key to the successful delivery of Global Asset Services operating model. The successful candidate will be responsible for overall service delivery of various Asset Services functions for the DB London Entity which trades across multiple markets around the worldUS Region. The various functions are all functions within the Corporate Actions life cycle such as announcements, entitlements, bookings, instructions and claims management. This role requires very close interactions with various Investment Banking operations team, client representatives and it is essential that the candidate is effective at dealing with senior management. That he/she can win commitment to implementing /changing policy or process.

Primary Responsibilities

- Responsible for the execution of the teams’ organisational development / transformation. Preparation of Management reports and Departmental initiatives, and interfacing with the different departments and the Onshore Team in London to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.

- The VP would also be responsible for Business Continuity, Audits, Transformation, Operational Risk & Control and people related initiatives and represent DBOI Asset Services in various forums like Operational Review Board, Performance Review Board and other organizational initiatives. Performance of the Line against the pre-agreed Service Level Documents that exist between each processing function.

- The candidate will be self motivated with a continuous focus on Global Strategy Development, be able to drive change keeping in mind the organisations key objectives of Control, Capacity, Cost, Client and Completeness.

- The individual will be expected to leverage Change & IT initiatives, Engineering opportunities through LEAN, LEAP, Capacity etc, organisational/footprint opportunities, production support initiatives as well as develop a Productivity based Change the Bank Book of work.

- Take end to end ownership of US Asset Services team across all functions within the corporate action event lifecycle.

- Regularly engage with internal clients such as desks / traders / BAC / finance for performance and risk reviews, escalations, provisions, write-offs and any other queries. Will also work with external clients and custodians to drive partnerships to manage and clear breaks and improve STP.

- Investigate the root cause of queries and provide corrective measures, deliver training via presentations with the objective of reducing the number of future queries. Ensure all corrective measures fully mitigate any future risk, and are delivered on a timely basis.

- Liaison with upstream and downstream business and teams to streamline operations. Identify process improvements, analyse the impact that the changes bring, and provide training to the process line via various media types.

- Review and sign-off new product approvals. Will be actively involved with Change Management programs in terms of review of BRDs, user testing and identification of defects and enhancements.

- Control and Assist with process and agent migrations.

- Staff development through strong engagement and Training Need Analysis. Drive creation of subject matter expertise within team through structured training program

- People Management in terms of driving objectives, performance reviews, succession planning, training & development needs, coaching and mentoring, building diversity, etc.

Primary Working Relationships

- Global Asset Servicing teams across Mumbai, UK and Asia

- Upstream processing teams such as confirmations and settlements, Trade Support, Stock Lending etc.

- Primary business such as Desks, traders, sales, Prime Brokerage Reps, accounting & Finance and Finance and control

- Change Management and Business Engineering

- Risk & Control

Job Requirements

- 12 to 14 years experience in investment banking security operations with a special emphasis on investment banking and security operations

- Should have a good understanding of the equities securities markets, in terms of trade and corporate actions life cycles, service providers and market participants, market nuances tax and regulatory implications / requirements

- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, prioritise multiple tasks in accordance with associated risk or client impact and meet strict deadlines. Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, and solid organizational and interpersonal skills. The candidate must be highly motivated, highly efficient and have the ability to constantly deliver on time.

- Proven ability to function effectively in a multi cultural environment. Comfortable dealing with multiple stakeholders and complex situations. Ability to identify and develop strong working relationship with internal as well as external ‘client’ groups

- Relationship management skills, proven networking and influencing skills

- Proven ability in defining strategy and implementing key deliverables

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially through email & powerpoint

- Attention to detail
