As a Senior Operations Manager - The role holder will play a critical role in the leadership of all front-line operations. This role holder will be responsible for a region/100(000’packages) and ensure achieving the number of defined metrics around customer service, health and safety, quality and productivity.

As a Senior Operations Manager, the role holder will be responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives and strive to continuously improve the efficiency of the processes, and instill a culture of best-practice, safety and customer-focused obsession within the teams. The role holder will be responsible to build long term strategies and ensure tactical execution of the same by making operating models to be flexible and agile to meet future customer needs. He/she will have to be innovative in approach and lead different projects; interacting with various teams of people and various stakeholders like vendors and contractors.

Reporting Line:

This role reports to the Country Director

Responsibilities:

- Focuses on supporting the development and retention of profitable business and service excellence by leveraging on the leadership principles to inspire, engage & develop a motivate team who deliver the required results.

- Provide innovation in developing long term strategies to ensure that the AMZL operating model is flexible and agile to meet future customer demands

- Achieves optimal customer experience and operational excellence by correctly implementing & following the established corporate operational processes. Builds and sustains the capability and potential to deliver to the customer.

- Identifies & engages with relevant stakeholders & decision makers to ensure a holistic approach & achievement of the strategic business objectives.

- Participating in continuous improvement and expansion initiatives and providing contingency cover as and when needed.

- Managing and driving the manpower demand plans, schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives and assist the business to achieve year on year improvements within its operating plan.

- Working with key business partners such as Transport & Sort, ISP Management, Carrier Management, Finance, IT, HR, ACES and Engineering to deliver the operating plan and to secure required support and resources for projects and initiatives

Basic Qualifications:

- Experience of lean techniques and processes (manufacturing, production or distribution environments, logistics industry), ideally 5 of which would have been at a senior level role managing multi-site locations, including either upsizing or downsizing a business

- The role holder should hold an MBA or have equivalent qualification or workplace experience

- Goal driven, target oriented, able to step back and look at the bigger picture (helicopter view), the person will also be able to manage ambiguity with their sleeves rolled up, and possess a preparedness to get involved

- Demonstrate strong track record of team leadership within a large scale rapid and process driven environment – must have end to end process management experience

- Strong problem-solving skills and the abilities to analyze quantitatively, scope technical requirements and effectively prioritize program deliverable are essential

Preferred Qualification:

1. Bachelors degree- IIT/NIT

2. MBA from premier B school - IIM

3. 10+ years of operations exp. in large manufacturing set-up.

4. Strong in people management, operations management
