Sr. Manager- Marketing, Global Academics  Looking for Sr. Manager- Marketing for a leading UK based Publishing House, a pioneer in publishing industry for their Global Academic Business in India.  Job Title: Sr. Manager - Marketing   Preferred Industry- Education / Publishing  PURPOSE OF THE JOB :  To lead the marketing team to develop and deliver marketing strategy and tactics for business in India; to contribute to the delivery of objectives and sales targets for all products; to represent the marketing function in a senior capacity internally and externally, develop and deliver strategic objectives for the department range- print, electronics and online, through the direction and management of the Marketing team.  PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY/KEY RESULT AREAS  1) Lead the research, development and implementation of marketing strategies and tactics that meet objectives, enhance organisation's reputation and core values, and drive competitor advantage. )   2) Recruit, train, manage and mentor staff; structure the team to deliver objectives; cascade initiatives and direction from marketing management; coach team members to elicit strong performance and address issues such as under performance; act as mentor to other marketers or teams in order that the team delivers a high quality service to the business, and individuals are developed and supported in their careers)   3) Oversee the preparation of the annual marketing budget; allocate resources according to departmental priorities and strategy; be accountable for the monitoring of expenditure against these budgets, in order that budgets are set appropriately and adhered to)   4) Contribute to the development of suitable targets for the department in conjuction with Head of Marketing; take into account market conditions to ensure targets are set in a market-focussed and realistic manner; take responsibility for management of the P&L for the list/territory, track performance against targets; adjust resources, activities and/or expectations on an on-going basis in order that targets are met (within resource constraints)  5) To support the marketing team in developing a deep understanding of the academic market in India; feed this back into the business to support the positioning and delivery of the publishing programme and of any improvements necessary. This includes liaison with other departments, including sales, editorial, stock planning, production, finance, customer service and distribution.)  	  KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE :  - A post graduate degree/diploma in marketing.  - At least ten years of extensive marketing experience, including creating and delivering marketing strategy and plans for lists or territories and contributing to department level strategy 	  	 - Experience of managing a team; delegation, coaching, and training	  	 - Ability to plan and priorities resources across several lists or regions influencing and negotiation skills, in order to be able to represent the team's interests successfully within the business	  	 - Awareness of market conditions and competitive landscape, and ability to interpret these factors into marketing strategy.
