Sr/General Manager - Legal - Real Estate

This is a strategic (head of function) role which encompasses the responsibility of managing the Company’s legal entities primarily across Uttar Pradesh and Delhi as well as the provision of legal advice on related contracts-

Key responsibilities:

- Together with the General Counsel, manage the Company’s 4 legal entities by supervising the structuring of documents, litigation, due diligence and liasoning.

- Develop, initiate, maintain, and revise - in collaboration with the Secretary to Board - policies and procedures for the general operation of the Company’s compliance programs and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.

- Manage day-to-day operation of the legal course for the group.

- Research and resolve pending or threatened disputes between the Company and third parties in the Corporate & Compliance area.

- Manage any litigation work (self or outsourced).

- Work with and manage outside counsel.

Desired Skills and Experience:

- Qualified lawyer with several years of relevant experience, including advising public companies on corporate and compliance issues and general contracts, including hands-on experience with managing legal entities in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.

- Solid understanding of Indian legal systems, ideally including UP land and revenues laws.

- Excellent drafting skills with keen attention to detail.

- Excellent command of written and spoken English.

- Team player with a proven ability to integrate and adapt to new environments easily and quickly.

- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to a cross-functional team.

- A successful track record in giving legal advice to clients, providing sound advice and acting as a pragmatic solution provider and constructive discussion partner to achieve optimum legal and business outcomes in a timely manner.

- Energetic, driven, personable and able to identify obstacles and ways to overcome them and enjoy setting things done.

- Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills and ability to coordinate projects at 360°.

- High level of integrity, ethical behavior, loyalty and trustworthiness.

- Sensitivity to adjust to different cultures and the proven ability to achieve objectives in very different environments.
