JOB TITLE Vice President - Technical Operations  BUSINESS UNIT / FUNCTION Technical Operations   LOCATION Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh, India (about 200 miles from New Delhi) and Gurgaon (Near New Delhi)   OBJECTIVES / PURPOSE OF JOB  The VP, Technical Operations will lead Manufacturing, Technology Transfer and Environment, Health & Safety functions to implement the company's business objectives. This senior leadership role will synthesize optimal manufacturing strategies to maximize productivity and availability of quality products to the customers. This position will be responsible for delivering best quality on time every time at the right cost to the customers. As a key member of the executive management team the Vice President will also be involved in key management decisions.   KEY ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES  - Financial: Availability of products from own Manufacturing site to meet the annual business plan at the optimum cost. Monitoring budgets closely to control the cost of production.   - Strategy Development: Develops key manufacturing strategies for expansion and improving productivity in line with long terms strategy and business plans of the organisation.   - Planning:   Develops an overall execution plan for Product Supply in line with the Sales plans and product development plans, in discussion with concerned stakeholders.  Plans production to utilize maximum capacity   - Manufacturing Operations  Achievement of the plan through the teams by providing required guidance and support  Plant Performance within norms of efficiency (yield, OEE etc.), quality, costs and utilisation   Implementation of defined regulatory and quality standards in the manufacturing process   Manages critical cross-functional interdependencies with R&D, BD, Quality, Finance etc. and get required support to for seamless implementation of decisions.  Manufacturing sites meeting all statutory requirements.   Maintains required process documentation.   Institutionalisation of mechanism for monitoring and reporting plant KPIs   Drives ERP culture in manufacturing, making it a way of life   Technology up-gradation at plant   Drives growth initiatives including planning for infrastructure and scaling up. Prepares the capital expenditure proposals as required. Conceptualise and drives expansion projects.   - Manufacturing Excellence   Leads and drives manufacturing excellence initiative as defined by various external audits including Indian Manufacturing Excellence framework. Drives initiative like 5S, 3M, Lean Manufacturing, TQM, TPM, OEE and Six Sigma  Drives continuous improvement in productivity, cost and quality in line with the external benchmarks  Oversees the automation projects at Plant  - Inventory & Asset Management: Maintenance of inventory and assets according to the plan.  - Technology Transfer  Oversees that required support is given for executing third party technology transfer projects and key customer relationships are maintained.   Inter-departmental coordination and timely execution of all Technology Transfer projects   - Environment, Health and Safety   Provides leadership to environment management, occupational safety and health initiatives   EHS compliances and creation of EHS culture.  Monitors energy conservation and waste reduction programs  Leads green manufacturing initiative  - Building Team: Builds and develops a high quality, competent, motivated and engaged team   - Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative - SEVA  Drives CSR initiatives across the organization   Works with CSR trust to utilize SEVA Budget as per defined CSR policy and program.  Projects execution on time and within budget.   Drives people involvement in SEVA initiatives  - Business Performance Measurement: Drives, develops, motivates and manages the different functions within the domain. Instils a culture of high performance, quality, ownership and accountability within the workplace. Shares best practice. Develops customer-focus. Reviews the performance of the Plant, Tech Transfer and EHS functions regularly.   - Industry Networks: Develops sustainable contacts amongst industry, professional groups and/or government agencies to ensure Company is perceived as the leading player in the industry.   - Compliance & Customer Service: Drives compliance culture and compliances with legal, regulatory, professional and ethical standards. Champions the highest quality customer service standards.  - Member of the Management Team   Participates in the overall management of the company as a member of the top team.  Responsible for co-development and delivery of annual business plan including Revenue, Production, Quality, Cost and Profitability targets for the organization as core member of the management committee.   Responsible for representing company in front of Government authorities like Drug department, Ministry of Health etc.  Responsible for influencing change in the organization as core management team member including driving cultural change in the teams by fully participating and contributing in Change Management initiatives.  KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS   - % increase in OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)  - Capacity Utilization of plant(s)  - On time and within budget order fulfilment for both Internal & external customers  - QUOTIF achievement   - Daily and weekly plan adherence   - Cost of Goods sold (COGS)  - Budget Vs.
