The company operates more than 60 manufacturing and compounding facilities in 40 countries, as well as numerous distribution centers, offices and storage facilities. For its Petrochemicals business group in SE Asia, the company is looking for a senior professional to join the team as :

Position : Senior Manager - Market Intelligence (Petrochemicals)

Location : Singapore

Responsibilities:

- The selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring and analysing market trends and competition; and providing accurate, timely and actionable inputs based on carefully analyzed information with the objective to increase competitiveness & profitability of the organization.

Specific responsibilities include :

- Monitor quantitative and qualitative competitive and market trends through internal analysis and external consultants; and delivery actionable solutions to BUs

- Provide line managers with continuous feedback on market developments

- Support regional operations and planning process with timely intelligence and forecast on prices, supply/demand and other variables for effective planning & performance optimization

- Assist BUs in Budgeting & Planning exercise with understanding of relevant factors e.g. supply, demand and margin, forecast long term outlook

- Play an integral role in the very long range planning process by generating data on supply demand price scenarios in various markets & identifying major drivers

- Mentor and motivate junior colleagues

- Knowledge management: Develop specific databases of BU information needs (customers, markets, competitors, product, trade and others); Ensure accessibility, compatibility and standardization with corporate database; and produce a wide range of specific data/ reports as required

- Strategy and Planning Support: Assist with all data and analysis needs for long term strategy preparation, including investment planning, as required

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics or Engineering from reputed universities. An MBA will be preferred.

- At least 8-10 years’ experience in the Petrochemicals, Fertilisers, Polymers or related industries; or in consulting and market research companies focussing on Petrochemicals sector

- Experience in research and analysis, and in developing/maintaining comprehensive market intelligence databases

- Strong understanding of petrochemical industry, customers, markets and competitors

- Experience in developing petrochemical value and margin models and a good grasp on pricing relations from crude oil to end products.

- Deep understanding of numerous country markets within Asia, market dynamics and trends

- Engaging with internal & external stakeholders require

- Strong communication - both written and spoken - and presentation skills

- Excellent analytical, problem solving, logical and conceptual skills

- Excellent IT skills & knowledge of forecasting software tools
