Description :

- The position is responsible for manufacturing planning across units as per the sales plans received from the Sales team. The role is also responsible for allocation of job work unit wise i.e. production planning, scheduling, inventory management and on time dispatch unit.

Job Description :

Strategic :

- Responsible for preparation of Master Manufacturing Plan to ensure maximum efficiency and achieving defined sales/ production targets

- Analyse the customer requirements proposed by the sales / business development/ KAM teams

- Analyse loading capacity, machine availability, equipment efficiency and productivity in consultation with Unit Heads / Production Heads / Unit Planners

- Plan and schedule the work plan for each unit in accordance with overall production plan and lead time available

- Responsible for material planning as per the Production plan and ensure adequate resources are available to meet the target deliveries

Operational : Production Planning & Control

Unit Planning :

- Responsible for preparation of Production Plan according to Sales / Business Development/ KAM requirements

- Once the order is plotted on the machines, responsible for coordinating with the Unit Planners / Sales team in case of any change to the production plan

- Modify the production plans to accommodate any change in availability of raw materials, machines or manpower

- Involved in new tool/ capacity requirement for the unit

- Responsible for optimal utilization of plant capacity and ensure allocation of job work based on the customer needs/ sales forecast / machine availability etc

- Responsible for production planning and scheduling for units

- Ensure timely release of 3 day plans to the Production team - unit wise

- Ensure timely updation of data on the ERP system

- Coordinate to ensure adequate raw material is available as per the production plan

- Responsible for preparation of Dispatch plan on daily basis and share it with the dispatch team

- Responsible for preparation of tubing & printing plan for the assigned unit

- Calculate caps/ box/ closures etc. requirement and follow up with local vendors for timely receipt of raw materials

- Follow up with Production Department to ensure production happens as per plan

- Conduct a plan vs. actual production analysis on daily/ weekly/ monthly basis

Material Management :

- Coordinate with Stores and Purchase teams for timely release of raw materials

- Ensure that the all the material required for production in the right quality is available in time

- Monitor daily receipts.

- Regularly interact with quality to ensure that the material meets the set quality standards and the acceptance of the material

- Regularly review stock levels of raw materials especially for critical items and equipment

- Ensure no excess stock or shortage of raw materials at any given point of time

MIS & Reporting :

- Maintain MIS of Central Planning like WIP, daily production, stock levels, Dispatch plans etc

Ensure timely and accurate reporting of actual production versus production schedules on :

- Production shortfall / delay report

- Production overrun / brought ahead of schedule report

- Production on target report

- To prepare weekly and monthly production reports

- To prepare any other MIS or reports as required

Developmental :

- Carry out performance appraisals, assess capability, and training needs of team

- Ensure career planning for employees through guiding, coaching, mentoring and motivating them for achieving department objectives

- Create a culture of continuous development

- Work towards succession in the team

Profile :

- Bachelors in Engineering/ Diploma in Materials management would be an advantage with 10-12 years of experience in production planning/inventory management roles. Must have managerial experience of min 5 years. Basic understanding of packaging sector will be added advantage
