This person will have a front row seat in driving the creative execution of the future product for the client, as well as building, growing and guiding a full UX/UI team.
This position reports directly to Chief Digital Officer.
Responsibilities
- Be an ambassador for UX who can evangelize the role design plays in the success of a product.
- Drive the strategic design vision, perspective, and execution of our full product suite end-to-end, spanning Consumer and Merchant facing products.
- Create and drive the UX vision with the executive team to align on how our design strategy impacts our customers & business goals
- Demonstrate thought leadership by contributing subject matter expertise in all areas of UX
- Implement efficient UX/UI processes that help the design team achieve their best possible work as they work with product managers and engineers
- Lead and grow a team of multidisciplinary UX and visual designers with mentorship, design guidance, and strategy.
Desired Candidate:
- An engaging and dynamic individual with a track record of leading a design team while also partnering effectively with the rest of the company
- Experience at a leading consumer or enterprise product company with a user-centered focus, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment that runs in an agile manner
- Experience in responsive web design
- Experience in both visual and interaction design
- Product design, not landing pages
- Expert knowledge of user-centered design principles
- Intuitive and highly functional flows
- A known leader in the design community, presenting at conferences
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in management, mentorship, and cultural change
- 10+ years designing user experiences, and interaction design, for rich, interactive, consumer or enterprise, web applications
- Bachelor's Degree in HCI, Design, Communication, or related experience preferred
