Senior Database Architect

Aims & Goals :
- The primary aim of the Sr. Database Architect is to be able to address issues of Data Migration (Validation, Clean-up, and Mapping) and will need to understand the importance of Data Dictionaries.
Key Responsibilities :
- Requirement Analysis and Solution Design
- Design and develop OLTP Databases, Data Warehouses and Multi-dimensional Databases
- Develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive, recovery and implementation of a database
- Develop data models for database structures
- Integrate technical functionality such as scalability, security, performance, data recovery, reliability, etc
- Implement measures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility
- Produce and enforce database development standards
- Maintain a repository of all data architecture artefacts and procedures
- Identify and evaluate current data management technologies
- Provide a strategic database direction for the organisation
Experience level & Qualification :
Experience Level :
- 10-15 years of experience as Database Analyst/Database Designer with relevant DBA exposure
Educational background :
- Preferably a BE/BSc in computer science or related engineering field
- May be certified as an Oracle DBA
Essential skills :
- An Enquiring Mind
- Ability to abstract general principles from specifics
- A strong desire to establish Standards of Best Practice. Communications and Presentation Skills
- Experience in code migration, database change management, and data management through the various stages of the development lifecycle
- Sound knowledge of both database and system performance tuning
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Should possess sound understanding of the business
- Sound knowledge of the implemented application systems
- Willing to work in shifts
Additional Skills :
- Sound understanding of the Oracle database, related utilities, and tools
- Sound understanding of the Data Replication Software such as Data Guard and Golden Gate
- Sound understanding of the underlying operating system
- Sound knowledge of the physical database design
- Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring
- Knowledge of all Oracle backup and recovery scenarios
- Sound knowledge of Oracle security management
- Ability to define data backup and restore policy.
- Ability to optimise available resources pool hardware and people both.
- ISO\ITIL process knowledge
