Senior Auditor - IT Audit  Opportunity with a reputed banking & financial services firm (MNC) in Chennai for IT Audit position.  Responsibilities: (Key parts to the job role)  - To operate effectively as a team member, or independently, and has responsibility for specific procedures and results as agreed upon with his or her manager in relation to project audit work.   - Leads testing of project management/governance processes as per audit methodology, and standards.   - Able to identify meaningful issues and track fieldwork and emerging issues to completion.   - Completes tasks efficiently (on time, on budget, accurately).   - Communicates well with clients and Audit team members; able to interact effectively with senior managers and to manage Audit team members.   - Engages in relevant training regarding audit, businesses, financial controls, regulations.   - Must be able to think beyond past routines about new issues or risks since the last audit took place.   - Take ownership of the projects or other work assigned to you and ensure that audits are carried out correctly and in a timely manner.   - Learns business strategies, processes and regulations effectively and quickly and is alert to the changing nature of risk.   - Demonstrates these skills through, for example, thoughtful analysis of business processes, risk assessment, and issue identification/ communication, as well as effective risk identification in audits and other projects.   - Adds value to client management through thoughtful analysis of current issues and effective communication with business managers both in person and in writing.   - Uses appropriate judgment with regard to issue priority and communication.   - Follows-up and validate sustainable resolution of issues on a timely basis.   - Leading / contributing to the planning stage of an audit, identifying and defining project audit scope using a risk based approach and developing appropriate risk based technology audit work programs,  - Leads and executes project audit work programs covering applications, client / server technology platforms and infrastructure   - Evaluates IT internal controls and works collaboratively with management to identify actions needed.  - Document system and support processes,   - Conducts interviews and reviews and analyses evidence obtained.   - Identifies, develops, and documents audit issues and recommendations using independent judgement concerning areas being reviewed. Prepares audit reports.  - Works with business audit colleagues, to ensure risks associated with each project are understood to facilitate effective consideration of the control environment.  - Managing people on discrete projects on a consistent basis with little oversight when 'Auditor In Charge'.  - Performing tasks within department policies, methodologies and standards.  - The ability to coach and mentor more junior team members  - Stakeholder Management   Requirements :   - 6 - 9 years relevant experience including experience in IT Audit (the designation as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or equivalent is preferred) with familiarity of auditing large, complex, high risk Projects / Programs, Financial Services experience would be beneficial.   Knowledge :  - Detailed experience of project management/governance controls, including user acceptance testing, change management.  - Strong interpersonal skills for performing auditee interviews, negotiating issues and resolving problems. Also, ability to self-motivate and able to take ownership of tasks allocated, with limited supervision. Working knowledge of Project Management/ Governance processes and awareness of :- (e.g. COBIT, FFIEC, Prince/PMI).  - Knowledge of the financial services industry and its regulations and laws would be an asset.  - Taking responsibility for audits from planning to reporting and issue follow-up.
