Following a recent integration of their wealth and capital markets operations, our client is developing a brand new shared services hub in Chennai, India. To grow & build this business they seek an exceptional leader to drive their securities, settlements and asset servicing operations out of Chennai.

Job Description

As Director Operations, you will be reporting to the Country - Head of Operations and will be responsible for a growing team, aimed at reaching 300+FTEs by 2012. In addition, you will also be responsible for:

- Strategic Planning: Ensuring a consistent and consolidated approach to ensure alignment of day to day operations with the long term organizational goals.

- Change Management, particularly from a growth environment perspective.

- Service Management: Driving a robust control environment, mitigating risk, developing & adhering to standard operating procedures and most importantly maintaining high quality levels of service delivery.

- Financial Management: Ensuring appropriate employment of financial practices, administering functional cost base.

- Driving business productivity and cost effectiveness

- Creating agility, flexibility & capacity building to support constant change whilst maintaining business growth.

- Stakeholder & client management

- Business Management & Administrative Responsibility

- Talent Attraction, Development and HR Business Operations

The Successful Applicant

Professional/technical experience:

- The right candidate will also have the ability to work and influence at a senior management level incorporating their experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders and utilizing their leadership and management expertise.

- Academic and professional qualifications: The ideal candidate will preferably be educated to degree level or above with an excellent general academic track record.

- Language skills: The successful candidate will have an excellent command of English with strong written and verbal communications to providing a world class service and drive client experience.

Personal attributes:

- Communication: The successful candidate will be responsible for encouraging and promoting open and honest communication, holding effective, regular team meetings and ensuring that all direct reports within the function are doing the same.

- Leadership: The right candidate will have strong leadership and management experience and must think about cause and effect in the external and internal environment and will drive to improve performance, create value and outperform competitors.

- Results and Execution Focus: The successful candidate will attain set objectives using resources effectively and be responsible for the improvement of the infrastructure environment and the continuous development of long-term strategy effectively utilizing open and clear communication channels.
