Overview:  - The current position is in the Life Sciences practice of Sathguru (Sathguru, www.sathguru.com) and will be based out of Hyderabad, India. Founded in 1985, Sathguru is a boutique strategy and innovation advisory firm with focus on technology driven sectors and expertise in corporate strategy, corporate finance/M&A and innovation advisory.  - The candidate will work with companies and research bodies in India to advise them on technology access, advancement and commercialization. The team is spread between India and Boston, Sathguru’s primary hub office in US that facilitates access to international technology sources, collaborators and commercialization partners. The team works closely with the corporate advisory group focusing on business and corporate finance advisory to the sector.   Primary responsibilities of the role include:  Technology commercialization/out-licensing: Sathguru works with several reputed global research institutes (academia, public labs etc) to commercialize in India, relevant technologies from their portfolio. Sathguru also works with several small to mid-sized/large companies to assess and pursue commercialization opportunities in India.   You will be involved in:  - Comprehensive opportunity assessment of scientific merits of technology (vis-à-vis state of the art and other developments in the pipeline), regulatory pathways, IP protection, medical need in India and commercial attractiveness  - Evaluating and developing potential commercialization pathways  - Executing the commercialization strategy including partner search, reach-out, articulation of technology benefits, technology transfer (licensing, co-development arrangements etc.) negotiation and execution  Technology access: Sathguru advises enterprises on potential technology opportunities and access modalities and facilitates access through various technology transfer models. You will be involved in   - landscaping and identifying technology opportunities based on scientific and IP review  - evaluation and due-diligence of scientific merits, IP protection and commercial attractiveness and prioritization of opportunities based on evaluation and fit with client needs,   - assessing and advising client on access modalities, collaborative research arrangements, negotiation support and execution of technology transfer  - Innovation finance: Accessing grants and other funding opportunities for early stage innovation driven ventures.
