This is a team leader role. This role will encompass developing processing solutions for existing and new tea based beverage products. The job holder will lead the activities related to conducting tea processing investigations using lab and pilot scale equipment to demonstrate the benefit and feasibility of novel processing ideas and support factory implementation. The job involves creating IP through novel technologies as well as translating the inventions into innovations by interfacing with design teams to establish consumer propositions. The scientist is also expected to identify and set up programmes with appropriate external partners.  Key Accountabilities - Identification of new process technologies for tea processing   - Leading the development and evaluation of laboratory and pilot scale processes for tea processing and tea formats  - Provision of recommendations to key stakeholders based on findings  - Work closely with category Design to align work programme and ensure efficient transfer of new technologies.  - Develop internal and external networks and build awareness of state-of-the-art knowledge within relevant fields.  - As a member of the Discover processing contribute to the development of capability and idea generation across the processing community  - Lead a project team (size 5-7 members)  Key Requirements & Experience - Should have a PhD degree in Chemical Engineering   - Experience in project management  - Excellent experimental, analytical and critical thinking skills  - Aptitude for applying transport processes, thermodynamics, reaction engineering and mechanics of size reduction theory to practical situations.  - Demonstrated ability to design processes for natural products / food processing or pharma industries is a plus though not a must have.  - Should have appreciation of bio-chemical processes, bio-process engineering and transformations  - Strong team alignment to deliver to diverse customer project requirements and timelines.  - A self starter and with strong passion to develop product innovations from idea generation.   - Excellent oral and written communication and influencing skills.  Key Interfaces  - Project or workstream leaders and team members  - Discover processing community  - Refreshment category design team leaders and members  Please feel free to reach me for any clarifications.
