Urgent Job opening in Gurgaon for Research Associate (Financial Services sector)

Research Associate

The position will be a core member of the Hong Kong office,with dual reporting to the Managing Partner of Hong Kong and operationally to the leader responsible for assignment execution. The Research Associate will partner with Consultants in all aspects of business development and search execution.

- He/She will focus on providing timely, informed, industry specific knowledge both on the marketplace and on key executives directly impacting the Consultants- ability to win business and close client mandates.

- The Research Associate will work closely in collaboration with Research and Consultant colleagues from Hong Kong and around the world as a fully integrated team member on senior-level, client projects. As an experienced hire, this individual is expected to lead by example and act as an informal mentor and coach to other researchers he/she works with throughout the organisation.

- The Research Associate will focus on assignments from Financial Services clients, in particular Private Equity/Venture Capital. However they will be expected to work outside the sector when needed. This focus will require building strong relationships with the Consultants and Researchers who are active in this sector, both in Hong Kong and around the world.

Key responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Assignment Research:(80% time allocation)

- Execute assignment research for client projects determined by the office

- Demonstrate excellent research expertise and build in-depth knowledge of key markets and talent pools

- Leveraging firm and individual knowledge / experience to act as a thought partner in the start-up phase of the search process, including setting expectations / confirming next steps

- Recommend initial candidate profiles to calibrate with team and validate search strategies, including alternate approaches and priority target companies

- Execute search strategy to identify potential candidates through internal/external sources

- Verify and/or update candidate details on the internal database using external data sources.

- Identify andprioritise target companies through market research

- Accountable for assessing and prioritizing potential candidates through database, internal network, external resources and market outreach as appropriate

- Recommend calibration candidate profiles and validate search strategies

- Support the assignment team throughout the search processes to drive strategy, bringforward candidate solutions and supporting client materials, such as client-ready candidate profiles and progress reports

- Ensure the real-time capture of insights on candidates and companies in the Firm's proprietary database throughout the course of the assignment

Business Development Support: (10% time allocation)

- Track market/client/candidate developments and disseminating this information in a targeted manner. Highlight appropriate potential business development opportunities

- Produce targeted marketing presentations outlining the Firm's experience locally and globally in selected areas

- Provide synthesised analysis of markets, competitors and compensation as required

- Proactively provide insights on industry trends and key companies

- Monitor client activity in the local market

- Proactively support sectoral/functional knowledge management activities (organisational charts, candidate lists, industry trends) via desk and telephone research

Knowledge Management:(10% time allocation)

- Develop specialist knowledge and insights into the trends, strategies and characteristics of the sector and its leaders

- Prepare project-specific sector analysis focusing on human capital topics

- Network and build relationships with colleagues within the Practice globally; download their knowledge and synthesise the learnings

- Leverage expertise and knowledge to develop winning marketing presentations and pitches.

- Record pertinent information in a timely manner; ensure relevant learnings and documents are captured and disseminated

- Contribute to the Firm's knowledge management activities by looking for opportunities to build and share expertise, and develop best practices

Candidate Profile:

Knowledge/Experience:

- An undergraduate degree from an accredited academic institution is required, and an advanced degree is strongly recommended

- Knowledge and experience in the Financial Services sector

- 6-10 years of experience 3-4 years of which needs to be in the identified sector i.e. Financial Services

- Experience of working on international engagements in a professional services environment

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and how to use its programs

- Experience of using large scale, complex databases
