Job Description:  The Policy and Regulatory Report (PaRR) is a global, policy-oriented news service specializing in antitrust law. PaRR delivers actionable intelligence on live merger situations, private litigations and government enforcement.  PaRR is part of the Mergermarket Group, a media company that provides the advisory, corporate and financial communities with forward-looking intelligence, analysis and data.  We are seeking a qualified research analyst to join our entrepreneurial team. The analyst will be a crucial part of an international team working together to deliver timely news to subscribers and develop two databases of regulatory events.  PaRR offers two first-rate databases: one covering regulatory reviews of major M&A deals around the world and the other addressing competition investigations and litigations. The analyst will track court cases and write/edit descriptions of US legal developments.   The analyst will also compile, write and deliver weekly news reports, as well as various internal lists crucial to the editorial teams. Additionally, the analyst will be asked to help with data collection and various research projects.  The role requires strong writing and analytical skills. Previous experience as a librarian or paralegal at a law firm desired. Candidates with knowledge of the US legal and regulatory system strongly preferred.  Responsibilities:   - Track US news developments and conduct daily research tasks  - Track activity in US litigation proceedings  - Analyze, interpret and summarize legal documents   - Produce and maintain a database of legal filings and events as gathered from public filings, news reports   - Work on US database projects  - Compile weekly news reports  - Assist with research projects, as needed  Qualifications:  - Interest in developing expertise in antitrust and compliance matters  - 1-3 years experience in the political/business arena, preferably focused on US legal proceedings or regulatory affairs.   - Bachelor's degree or equivalent   - Interest in building a qualitative database   - Attention to detail   - Strong English communication skills, particularly writing ability (candidates will be required to submit writing samples)   - Excellent computer skills   - Knowledge of research methodologies
