Job Title : Analyst   Reports to : Manager - Analytics  Scope of Role : Group Head Office, Prudential UK, Prudential Corporation Asia, M&G, JNL  UK Business Area : PPMS - Knowledge Services  Key departments / areas of responsibility : Analytics  Job Dimensions :  Financial :  The role has no financial responsibilities.  Non Financial :  - This role has no direct reports and will work under a Deputy Manager / Manager  Overall Job Purpose :  - Work on projects in the areas of - Customer Analytics, Distribution Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Social media Analytics, Web Analytics, Risk, Fraud & Finance Analytics, Call Centre Analytics and HR Analytics - for all geographies where Prudential is present  - Operations Analytics and HR Analytics - for UK, Asia and US geographies  - Work on projects that involve   - Statistical modelling (predictive analytics, forecasting, segmentation, Machine Learning techniques. Campaign management), data analysis and mining  - Designing and setting up MIS systems, database testing, manipulation and automation  - Advanced visualisation - development and implementation  Accountabilities/Responsibilities :   Data Consolidation :   - Manipulate large datasets in DBMS applications like SQL Server and Toad   - Come up with innovative ways to combine multiple data sources e.g. fuzzy logic  -Develop complex solutions to calculate metrics and KPIs  - Analyse the data and provide relevant insights  -Preparing the datasets for the statistical models  Develop Statistical Models: Apply advanced analytical techniques such as regression modelling, time-series analysis, cluster & factor analysis and segmentation to create different models :  - Understand and analyse customer behaviour and help build forecasting modes / propensity models to gain more insights into customer behaviour  - Understand distribution effectiveness of various channels  - Establish linkage between marketing effort spend and its effectiveness  - Create operational performance dashboard for call centre consultants  - Forecasting call volumes and optimising resource requirement for call centre  - Improve customer satisfaction by providing data driven recommendation  - Support the HR campaigns by providing insights using employee data  - Develop models to identify factors influencing employee engagement and attrition  - Build Excel / Access / VBA models : These are user developed applications and are also built as part of the consultative engagement to analyze the specific -hypotheses and as decision aiding tools  Develop analytical solutions : Develop solutions for interventions in other functions such as Customer Service, HR, Risk and Audit  Key Interfaces (please detail purpose and level of contact) :  Internal :  - Analytics leadership, KS leadership  - Local Business Unit leaders for UK, US and Asian geographies  External :  - None  Competence / Knowledge / Skills required  Please describe the requirements for the job, considering the following areas:  Required :  - 2 yrs + exp in core Statistical modelling ( predictive ), data consolidation and manipulation, Worked on large databases - SQL Server / Oracle  - Analytics Tools - R/ SAS / SPSS  - VBA - good to have  - Educational - Eng /MBA/ stats/Maths background  - Expertise in a few of the statistical platforms such as SPSS / SAS / R / SQL / SPSS - Clementine,/ VBA/ R / etc. depending on teams- requirements  - Expertise in visualisation application such as Qlikview / Tableau/ Spotfire would be an added advantage  - Knowledge of predictive statistical techniques like regression, Time series, segmentation models etc. would be beneficial  - Expertise in database management systems and data manipulation using SQL/Toad  - Advanced skill in MS-Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)  - Expertise in visual Basic for Applications for MS Office  - Ability to summarise and effectively present complex analytical insights, observations and recommendations to an audience using business language  - Excellent oral and written communication skills  - Ability to work alone or with limited supervision   - Responsibility and Attention to Detail - Take responsibility for delivery of precise and accurate analyses, models, dashboards and reports to tight timescales and work to resolve problems when they occur  - Proactive attitude towards continuous learning and self development  Good to have :   - Exposure to Operations Research techniques (optimization, simulation and heuristics)  - Knowledge of marketing domain; campaign development, delivery and analysis; customer targeting techniques   - Exposure to insurance domain and financial services industry  - Knowledge of significant regulatory processes, specifically including data protection   - International work experience
