Protiviti - Consultant/Senior Consultant - Financial Advisory Services

Role Objective

The Firm is seeking to recruit a bright and passionate individual as a Consultant/ Senior Consultant, with relevant work experience and skills in FS domain. The role will primarily involve executing or managing client engagements in FSRM. The position is based out of Bahrain and may also require travelling within the GCC region.

Role Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the candidate include:

1. Delivering concise deliverables that are tailored to the client's business and requirements, in a timely fashion.

2. Conducting discussions with clients (senior staff - CXOs, Heads of Business Units and Senior Executives) - analyzing the facts, establishing hypotheses and deriving conclusions.

3. Support the firm in understanding the client's requirements and writing clear client proposals that articulate the specialized domain skills.

Required Skills

The candidate will have experience in one of the following areas:

1. Knowledge of Fund Transfer Pricing (- FTP- ) Framework implementation and Risk Adjusted Performance Measures (- RAPM- ).

2. Quantitative modeling: rating models, cash flow modelling, pricing, economic capital, stress testing, RAPM.

3. Developing risk policies and processes - specifically for credit risk and Asset Liability Management (- ALM- ) tailored to the specific business line.

4. Functional knowledge of corporate business (capital financing, working capital loans, project finance, etc.) and consumer finance (real estate - residential and commercial, auto finance, etc.) products.

5. Deep understanding of credit life cycle process - including underwriting criteria and process, credit rating, credit analysis, approvals and credit monitoring.

6. Solid understanding of investment life-cycle in asset allocation and its link to appetite setting, pre and post-investment due-diligence.

7. Understanding of Basel 2 (Pillar 1, Pillar 2 requirements) and Basel 3.

8. Outstanding communication skills in presenting to senior executives.

9. Knowledge of Islamic finance will be an added advantage but not a pre-requisite.

10. Proficiency in MS Excel (required).

Work Experience & Education

Candidates will have 3 to 5 years relevant experience with:

1. Risk Management function or Line Business of a commercial bank or investment bank (credit risk and ALM).

2. Leading consulting firms, specializing in FS or working in rating agencies

3. Experience in implementing leading risk vendor solutions (Sungard, Algorithmics, Misys, Moodys).

Relevant experience implies that the candidates will demonstrate experience in any of the above-mentioned points in the - Required Skills- section.

Ideal educational qualifications would be:

1. Under-graduation in a quantitative discipline (preferably engineering, mathematics, statistics) or Post Graduation in any of the above-mentioned areas.

2. Professional qualification with relevant risk management work experience, or certifications like FRM, PRM and/or CFA.

3. MBA (Finance) will be an added advantage.

Expected Travel

The role is based out of Bahrain. However, the candidate may be required to travel within the GCC region.
