The Global Database Services Sr Manager will help set strategy for database administration, database infrastructure technologies and platforms. They'll establish and oversee the governance for the overall database solutions and architecture initiatives. They will define and maintain database technology security standards, policies, and controls for international implementation. They will partner with database technology vendors to explore potential benefits of new products and technologies and partner with the Enterprise Architecture Team to define new technology and use patterns. They will work with 3rd party supplier of database services to test new patterns, review and develop implementation plans, and guide contract changes through their analysis and ultimate approval. They will work with a team of international DBAs and guide usage of new database features, resolution of key database outages / performance degradation, and monitoring 3rd party supplier compliance to metrics. They will also partner with teams for incident resolution, security remediation, and develop robust plans for implementation changes / rolling back changes. As well, they will help develop processes for reporting on metrics (key performance indicators, database security compliance, and repetitive incidents) and develop service improvement plans for customers and internal processes. They will perform normal managerial / leadership responsibilities including performance reviews, developing project proposals and cost/benefit analysis for projects, leading incident calls, and providing high level management updates.  Work Experience:  10+ yrs experience as an Oracle DBA  5+ yrs managing DBA team  Budgeting / Cost benefit analysis for projects  Prior support experience on Oracle database versions v9 thru v11.2+  Prior experience with multi-instance databases / RAC  Prior experience with Stand-by databases and Oracle DataGuard  Prior experience with Oracle Enterprise Manger / OEM  Prior knowledge of Exadata / Oracle Virtualization on Exadata  Prior experience with SQL Server or DB2  Prior Oracle SAP experience  Skills and Capabilities:  Familiarity with ITIL processes and strategies governing:  Incident Management  Problem Management  Request Management  Change Management  Interpersonal and Administrative Requirements  Experience with leading and motivating small teams with team members in various locations  Experience in leading conference calls with attendees from various teams and locations to troubleshoot issues within and outside the database area and restore service to customers as quickly as possible  Oversight and partnering with 3rd party vendors  Partnering with internal teams such as Asset Management, Procurement, and Finance in their efforts facilitate contractual changes  Considerations and strategies for software licensing management and reconciliation across various DBMS technologies  Experience coding and debugging Microsoft PowerShell scripts and modules  Demonstrated analytical skills and aptitude  Experience with the Microsoft Office products Excel, Power Point, Word.
