National Head - Legal - FMCG/Mfg

- Environmental Laws: Lead plan & execution for compliance of environmental laws for the business by keeping abreast with related developments.

- Litigation Management: Lead litigation for the company in all environment related matters across zones, which will include Civil, Criminal, Writ Petitions, and Matters before Tribunals etc.

- Support business - Ensure timely support to business in all environment related issues in the day to day functioning of Factories, Offices & depots. Ensure comprehensive due diligence of properties & ensure legal compliance at the zones.

- Legal Guidance: Provide proactive legal guidance, advice and assist in problem-resolution on a timely basis on various environment laws applicable to the organization and other issues which may arise; work as part of cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives and provide legal guidance as required.

- Contract Management: Work with business in negotiation, structuring and documentation of various contracts within corporate guidelines to ensure compliance on applicable environment laws

- Legal Representation: Work with Legal Head on complex environment related legal matters; develop relationships with other lawyers, regulators, legislators that may influence the future direction of the legal climate in which the Business operates.

- External Legal Services Management: Work with Legal Head to develop guidelines for undertaking services of advocates and other legal services; monitor and review the quality and cost of services provided by third party counsel for area of practice and take steps to optimize these costs

Candidate Profile:

Minimum Work Experience:

- Minimum of 8 - 12 years of legal practice with at least 2- 3 years in environment matters

- Of the total experience a minimum of 3 -5 years’ experience in FMCG / Manufacturing or related industries though it may not be in the current assignment; Knowledge of beverage industry is preferred

- Knowledge of food laws, Environment Laws, Consumer Laws, Labour & Corporate Laws. Competition laws,

- Knowledge of marketing laws and understanding in handling environment related issues
