Manager - New Product Development  Company : NR Groups  Direct Reporting To : Product Design Head  Functional Area : Product Design   Job Purpose :  Responsible for development and execution of new product design, development and testing of product prototypes and documentation of all new products for assigned product categories, with the aim of bringing new products to market.  Key Accountability :  - Identify the needs and goals for new products, from function to aesthetics   - Understand the market and customer needs, and how the new product will be positioned against the competition   - Create a design and fabricate models that can be tested by experimenting with and analyzing different materials, manufacturing processes, design tolerances and other factors in the developmental process   - Work towards reducing cost and time to develop the new product and enhancing the quality of the product   - Coordinate with market researchers and materials suppliers to evaluate market needs, existing competition and potential cost   - Deliver specifications and procedures to manufacturing teams who can then begin production, after refining and reviewing initial designs and getting the sign off from the higher management   - Fine-tune the design of the new products until they are ready for production   - Be a key participant in the development of advertising, public relations and all marketing communications to meet product development objectives   - Understand competitor products and ensure company's products are acceptable in the market and ahead of competitors   Functional Competencies :   - Must have prior experience in new product development  - Must be strong in Product Planning Strategy, Sales & Marketing Concepts, Product Positioning, Competitive Analysis, Understanding the Customer & consumer, Product Development  - Must have excellent idea about the current trends & customer buying behaviour in the FMCG sector  - Excellent planning, coordination and organizational skills   Behavioral Competencies :   - Strategic Orientation  - Performance and Accountability  - Communication & Listening   - Decision Making   - Entrepreneurial Mindset   - Planning and Organizing Experience & Educational Requirements   Educational Qualifications : (degree, training, or certification required)   - Bachelor's degree required  - Bachelor's degree in a relevant business-related field from a reputed institute  Relevant Experience : (no. of years of technical, functional, and/or leadership experience or specific exposure required)   - Minimum 5 -6 years of experience in New Product Development (FMCG sector preferred)
