Candidate should be from North -Delhi Preferred presently based in Bangalore.  Reports to : Legal Head  RESPONSIBILITIES :  Handle all food law litigations/ judicial proceedings in respect to the Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006.  Drafting Responses to the notices received from Local Food safety officers.   Interaction & dealing with Local Food safety officers for compounding of offence and Managing Litigation for and on behalf of the company pertaining to FSSA/PFA.   Drafting & filing of written submissions /Affidavits/ Counter affidavits before ADM court/District Court  - Engage local Counsels, briefing of counsels including senior advocates on various writ petitions and court cases pertaining to FSSA and PFA (Prevention of Food Adulteration).   - Provide/assist counsel for providing documentary/ material evidence   - Interaction with Food Safety Officers while taking our food product sample. Defending against advertising complaints, enforcement actions and prosecutions, and defending against competitor challenges in court and other forums.  - Reviewed all domestic Packaging/laminates/artwork in accordance with the legal provisions provided in the Food Safety and Standard Packaging& Labelling Regulation.   - Approval of domestic packaging and labelling requirement etc. for launch of new products (statutory compliance)/existing products, formulation of guidelines, interpretation of Govt. notifications/orders/Regulation and issuing of advices to the concerned Departments of the Company.  - Preparing and submitting to the relevant authorities for obtaining regulatory clearance for the use of new food additives, novel foods, novel food ingredients, and substances used in finished food product.  Liaisoning :  - Submission of Licensing application & other documents before the appropriate FSS Licensing authority.  - Liaison with various government departments, FSSAI etc. for getting registration, licenses, approval and consent and renewals expeditiously.  Food laws of Foreign Countries :  - Approval of other countries packaging and labelling requirement etc.  - Advising various Department and Management of the Company on issues connected with and incidental to Compliances under Food Laws of foreign country.  Intellectual Property :  - Preparation, maintenance and updation of MIS of the IP portfolio of the Company.  - Collecting documents for filing new applications for trademarks/ copyright in India and across the globe.  - Giving inputs/ suggestions in preparing strategies for new applications and to contest overcome opposition/ objections on the trademark applications.  - Provide support for opposition/ objections raised on the applications.  - Conduct worldwide search for adoption of trademark & inform the management about its availability.  - Liaising with the Indian and & Foreign attorneys.  Legal Metrology Act :  - Nomination and Registration under Legal Metrology Act and Packaged Commodity Rules with various states Legal Metrology Director/Controller for each establishment of the company.  - Briefing of counsels including senior advocates on various writ petitions and court cases pertaining to Legal Metrology.  - Advising various Department and Management of the Company on issues connected with and incidental to Compliances under Legal Metrology.  - Miscellaneous work assigned by Management  COMPETENCIES / EXPOSURE :  - Soft / Behavioral Competencies   - Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills   - Good communication skills  - Functional Competencies   - Excellent planning and execution skills   - Handling Food Law litigation, compliance in respect to food product packaging artwork, managing Trademark & Copyright portfolio.   - Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions  - The candidate should have excellent analytical ability, attention to detail, logical and legal reasoning, sound judgment and excellent written and communication skills.   - Most importantly, the candidate should be able to manage multiple priorities, work efficiently under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines.  Qualifications :  - LLB/LLM with 5 to 10 years of Experience (FMCG or manufacturing sector preferred)   - 3-4 years experience in Food industry
