Job Title: Global Support Functional Data Scientist (Manager Level) Grade MM3  Location: Pune  Purpose/Objective :  The main purpose of your activities is to deliver actionable insights based on the data. To realize this, you will :  Analyze available (historical) data sources.  Look into the data from different perspectives and visualize the information.  Proactively search for other relevant data sources to enable successful analysis and modelling.  Develop and apply mathematical, statistical, and econometric models.  Detect patterns and point out unusual behavior in data.  Perform root cause analysis to explain what and why has happened.  Find the relevant indicators and apply/develop models by which future behavior can be forecasted.  Provide an intuitive and user-friendly way to analyze the possible future scenarios including scenario analysis enabling efficient decision making process.  The results of your work will support the AkzoNobel Finance organization to better understand what might happen in future, what future scenarios might mean to us, and what can be done about this.  Job Requirement :  - Master's degree in (applied) mathematics, econometrics, informatics, business administration, mechanical engineering.  - 3+ years of experience as data scientist or consultant performing data analysis and modelling.  - 3+ years of experience in programming.  - 2+ years of experience in visualizing data/models.  - A demonstrable experience of actively using R and Spotfire (1+ year(s) each).  - Knowledge of and practical experience in statistics, machine learning, forecasting models.  - Being a curious and proactive person, willing to learn and develop yourself.  - Being a result-oriented team-playerwho is able to convince people based on facts.  - Strong analytic skills and the ability to analyze, organize, summarize, present, and articulate complex processes and data enabling decision making.  - Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner.  - Able to prioritize and work with multiple internal customers.  - Strong - can-do mentality and drive to accomplish tasks.  - Excellent Excel knowledge (power-user) incl. VBA.  - Knowledge of SAP (including Business Warehouse/Business Objects) is preferred.  - Knowledge of Hyperion (HFM) is preferred.  - Experience in change management in a finance environment is preferred.
