Job Responsibilities :

- To provide solutions to compliance issues, in-house, wherever possible

- Liaise with other regional teams for implementing legal and compliance programs concerning data protection laws, commercial laws, competition laws and all business compliance laws.

- Implementing and taking charge of the legal compliance program of the company

- Research on key issues relating to laws affecting the company

- Handling legal compliances of the company and other group entities

- Responsible for drafting notices, plaints / replying to legal notices on behalf of the organization

- Handling litigation matters on behalf of the company and providing all related support as an in-house counsel

- Liaising with autonomous bodies to ensure Statutory Compliance procedures.

- Managing regulatory affairs of the business - corresponding with various central, state and local government departments, quasi-judicial offices, to get licenses, manage inspections, seizures, raids, adjudications and all other proceedings under Food Safety and Standards Act, Essential Commodities Act, Shops and Establishments Act, Municipal Corporation laws, Legal Metrology Act, labour laws and other laws affecting retail trade operations.

Knowledge and Skills Required :

- Real Estate - Development and Retail Leasing. Handle legal aspects related to property acquisitions

- Litigation

- Trading laws / operation laws

- Project legal risk analysis and management.

- Handle all kinds of disputes with service providers, vendors, etc.,

- Scrutinizing the legal compliance of various deals and banking activities.

- Brief counsels, solicitors and advocates during litigation and other legal proceedings.

- Represent the company before Courts of law, Tribunals and if need be, statutory authorities

- Liaison / Filing of IP / licensing related legal requirements with the competent authorities

- Must have the Knowledge of Regulatory Law, Corporate law, Regulatory matter, Service matter, Litigations, Settlements, legal strategy, Licenses, petitions, etc.,

Mandatory Checklistfor screening :

- Should be a hands on with Compliance.

- Should be 70 % into compliance, 30% Legal.

- Should have experience of liasoning with govt authorities/bodies.

- Should have good knowledge of various legal laws.

- Should support the legal function.

- Experience in Litigation
