Manager - Accounting & Reporting - IT Services

Role title: Manager, Accounting & Reporting (IT Services)

Role purpose:

- Currently responsibility for the accounting, reporting and analysis of IT Services revenue, cost margin and capital is spread throughout the finance organisation and there is no single point of expertise in this area.

- Has identified a need to have a Finance Centre of Excellence (CoE) to be the single point across the Finance organisation where knowledge and understanding about the IT Services finance processes, numbers, plans and strategy will reside.

- The purpose of the CoE is to provide commercial leadership and differentiation through challenging business performance and supporting the Line of Business to deliver above market rates and revenue growth and return on capital employment.

This role is to lead and manage the Accounting team within the IT Services CoE:

- understanding end to end view of the accounting processes and their impact on business results, leading change where required to improve efficiency and effectiveness

- provide timely and first rate financial information to the IT Services Analytics team that will be used to create commercial information to be provided to the business to facilitate understanding and enhance decision making

- manage and lead the Accounting team supporting the IT services CoE

- The role will directly report to the IT Services Accounting, Reporting and Analytics Controller

Key accountabilities:

- Ensure that actual financial results relating to IT Services revenue and costs are complete, accurate, timely, consistent and in full compliance each month with policy

- Preparation of detailed commentary and monthly IT Services business reporting

- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for those accounts related to the IT Services CoE

- Make recommendations concerning financial and operational results, problems, issues, trends etc.

- Ensures consistency and validity of all IT Services management and financial reporting produced from the FSSC

- Understand and resolve accounting issues relating to IT Services CoE

- Continuously review accounting processes and systems in the light of business requirements and identifies changes that are necessary to control the risks and/or improve efficiency and effectiveness

- Supports activities and projects within the IT Services CoE.

Management responsibilities:

- Direct reports: Accounting team dedicated to the IT Services CoE in FSSC

Role requirements:

Experience:

- Relevant financial experience in an international and/or complex environment, with a proven broad knowledge of financial practices and procedures

- Proven ability to achieve results and improvements to business processes, working with and through different teams across an organisation

- Proven track record of working well within teams and interacting with senior management

- Knowledge of IT Services Products

- Experience of working and liaising with shared and virtual teams

- Experience working with Oracle 11i

- People management and mentoring

Skills/Qualifications:

- The ideal candidate will possess excellent people skills, creativity, enjoy problem solving and have attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of the financial information prepared within the IT Services CoE

- ACA/CIMA or equivalent in India, 7+ years Post Qualification Experience

- Excellent excel skills and experience of financial modelling

- Excellent written and spoken communication skills

- Excellent financial system knowledge and financial reporting

- Strong ability to communicate to all levels, especially Senior Management

- Proven ability to work with minimal direction

- Identifies and pro-actively pursues opportunities for improvement

- Confident in dealing with conflict fairly and decisively
