The team operates in a matrix organization, interacting with senior stakeholders from Copenhagen, The Hague and around the world on a daily basis providing legal advice and guidance to the business. We Offer : An exciting role with the worlds largest shipping line. The successful candidate will be handling vessel damages, pollution, crewing and many other types of third party claims for Maersk Chartered 400-strong fleet of container ships. The role involves handling of stevedore incidents and the incumbent is expected to actively contribute towards claims prevention initiatives. The person will have a high-level of exposure to a broad range of stakeholders at different levels in the business, as well as frequent interaction and management of external experts such as surveyors, lawyers and insurers. Key Responsibilities : - Co-ordinate with Liner operations center team for repair of stevedore damages - Handling incidents and claims in co-operation with clubs/underwriters. - Appointing appropriate experts, surveyors. - Support data management initiatives within department for claims and loss prevention activities. - Co-ordinate with terminals for recovery. - Assist in driving key objectives for the team. - Assist in reviewing/adjusting invoicing from clubs, underwriters, brokers, or other vendors. - Contribute in monthly performance reports for claims managers. We are looking for : - Maritime Insurance/Law Graduate with 5+ years of experience in marine claims or equivalent experience - Knowledge of shipping trades and operations is essential with box ship experience beneficial. - Charter party and maritime law knowledge is essential. - Knowledge of insurance and underwriting principles highly desirable. - Effective communication skills ensuring clear, direct and appropriate communication at multiple organization levels. - Strong interpersonal skills. - Focus on long term business goals. - Highly result oriented, ready to take challenges and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. - Proactive problem-solving ability with analytical thought process.
