- An energetic candidate having thorough understanding of the regulatory aspects in Corporate Banking; Trade Finance and working capital lending in particular - Drafting skills, communication skills and understanding of global commercial issues as well as legal systems across international markets - Draft documents related to Maersk and clients and review the agreement if necessary and make any amendments or limit the agreements or add any exceptions or conditions according to the parties, required - Gather all parties to complete the transaction, ensuring all agreed terms are reflected in the loan and that all documents have been properly signed and witnessed - Ensure contracts are structured, negotiated and drafted in a way that ensures risks are minimised but in a way, that makes it practical for clients to operate flexibly and effectively on a day-to-day basis domestically and internationally - Negotiate with the opposite party to agree the terms of the deal and record them accurately in the facility documentation. - Understanding financial structures and continuous upskilling of knowledge. - Build up strong and long-term relationships with global counter parts and with external law firms. - Provide guidance on how to comply with company law procedures, the raising of funds and in the case of international transactions, compliance with foreign laws. - Evaluating, recommending and putting in place the most suitable legal set-up for the Trade Finance business overall and in jurisdictions where Trade Finance is operating in particular - Working closely with product teams as part of the product development efforts and suitable legal set-up in respect of the same - Initiate, perform necessary due diligence and determine and articulate Trade Finance set-up requirements for entry to new Markets - 7 to 15 years of strong domain experience in managing legal function in financial industry. - Demonstrating ability to build a team, groom talent and keep staff motivated. - Highly result oriented, ready to take challenges and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. - Understanding of international markets and legal practices - Ability to work in a matrixed organization with HQ teams and functional teams on the ground - Commercial mindset
