Job Purpose/Summary:  Incumbent of this role will head the Compliance and Control function of the new Maersk Trade Finance business. The incumbent will be responsible to manage regulatory compliance for all countries of business along with managing different types of risks - operational, reputational, fraud, regulatory, business, etc.. The incumbent will be responsible for designing and managing key compliance and control procedures including but not limited to preparing compliance policies, ensuring implementation of regulatory frameworks, testing effectiveness of control procedures, etc. . Understands the impact and benefits that new practices could bring to the organisation and is willing to implement changes.  Key responsibilities:  - Overall regulatory compliance of the Trade Finance business  - Identify and manage risks arising from the trade finance business  - Ensuring implementation of effective controls to mitigate risks of the business  - Evaluate business performance on risk-reward spectrum to help the Business Head in taking informed risk decisions.  - Conduct of regular management committee meetings to keep senior management abreast of key risks for the business.  - Defining the approach to obtaining regulatory approvals needed to start the business in pilot / new countries.   - Preparing compliance policies and procedures in line with local regulatory requirements and global trade practises  - Ensuring implementation of policies by independent testing   - Ensuring any changes in local regulations and/or internal compliance rules are effectively communicated across all the levels of the organisation  Primary internal stakeholders:  - Global TF management team  - Business Steering Committee  - Group Internal Audit  Primary external stakeholders:  - Regulators  - External legal counsels  - External Audit  Required experience & skills:  - Expertise in standard KYC and AML norms applicable to Financing companies.  - Proficiency in Trade Finance products and understanding of the regulatory landscape around the same  - Minimum of 10 years of strong domain experience in managing regulatory risks in financial industry.  - 5+ years in a senior leadership role with proven ability to lead, self-motivated & engage a diverse work force.   - Experience of operating in a complex matrix type delivery models across multiple processes  - Demonstrating ability to groom talent and keep staff motivated and engaged  - Extremely strong analytical skills   - Highly result oriented, ready to take challenges and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines  Leadership Competencies  - Visionary leadership: A strong communicator with a clear and concise presentation style, who can convey, with consistency, a vision for the business in a manner that is readily accessible and understandable to all.   - Organisational buy-in: Highly developed leadership and influencing skills; must demonstrate the ability to secure buy-in at all levels within the organisation.   - People development: Will be a charismatic leader, with a down to earth approach that empowers people while also supporting their development needs.  - Best practice perspective: Well-versed in current best practice information and trends in the external market place.   Key measures:  - Regulatory performance - Number of compliance breaches (Country pilots and subsequently overall business)  - Risk Management - Periodic reviews   - People related metrics - timely hiring, attrition and team development  - Defining the approach to regulatory incorporation of ML TF entity  - Obtaining regulatory approvals needed to start the business in new countries   - Successful passing of all the regulatory inspections and internal / external audits.
