Job Purpose/summary :

- Cost Controller will be part of the global cost controlling team and will be responsible to maintain transparency, quality and consistency in cost reporting. Cost Controller is expected to proactively identify potential financial/ reporting risks and mitigate the same together with relevant stakeholders.

- Controller will be responsible to perform continuous detailed cost review/ analytics and expected to have keen interest in numbers with a curiosity to understand the underlying drivers behind those numbers. Cost Controller will work closely with finance teams in agencies, Liner Operations Clusters as well as our PTP teams

Key responsibilities :

Key activities/responsibilities would be :

- Analyse & validate the cost records and calculation of unit costs

- Ensure all necessary controls and reconciliations are performed on continuous basis and duly signed off

- Perform detailed cost analysis and understand the cost drivers behind periodic variance

- Ensure timely & accurate cost booked under appropriate cost heads

- Generate weekly and monthly cost reports in tabular and graphical overview per Operational area, and location

- Recommend changes to processes and systems that will minimize risk, improve performance and productivity

- Build network aiming at effective collaboration between the teams considering daily interaction with various stakeholders

- LOC Finance team

- Cluster Finance team

- OPS teams

Primary external stakeholders :

- Auditors

- Vendors

Required experience & skills :

- Solid financial educational background as Cost Accountant or equivalent degree in Finance and Accounting and good understanding of control framework

- Minimum 5 plus years of experience within cost controlling, cost accounting, P&L analysis etc.

- Self-motivated, result oriented and attention to details

- Good analytical skills, including the ability to extract, compile and analyse data

- High competency in written and verbal English

- Ability to handle phases with high workload and unplanned activities

- Team player - Works together with others to achieve results and fosters teamwork

- Shipping/ Transportation industry experience would be an added advantage but not mandatory
