- Manage a regional litigation docket that consists of commercial, credit and collections, real property, environmental and other similar litigation matters that arise in the ordinary course of a large, multinational chemical company.   - Interview and hire outside counsel, including developing a budget for each litigation, compliance, and commercial matter, ensuring compliance with company Guidelines for Outside Counsel and actively manage outside counsel accordingly.   - Act as investigation lead responsible for conducting, independently and jointly, complex to small scale internal investigations, and coordinate with and manage other investigations, related to alleged violations of the company Business Conduct Guidelines and Corporate Compliance policies.   - Provide legal advice to business primarily in South Asia and secondarily in South East Asia covering agreements, transactions, claims and litigation, and local law compliance.   - Draft, negotiate and administer legal agreements to help ensure that the businesses achieve the best practicable commercial deals whilst ensuring the legal aspects are appropriately covered and legal liabilities of the businesses are minimized.   - Assess and advise on proposed potential commercial relationships and devise practical legal solutions.   - Provide appropriate training on relevant Ethics and Compliance and legal matters and procedures.   - Support Corporate projects.   - Promote the highest ethical standards and be an advocate of the company Values.   - Advise on and ensure compliance with company policies, including identifying preventive actions that may prevent violations or reoccurrences, and analyse and report on any compliance trends, both internal and external.   - Liaise with other functions of the businesses - Finance, Tax, EHS, etc. to ensure that all aspects of agreements and projects are properly considered.   - Monitor and advise on current and new legislation in the region.   Essential Qualifications And Experience :  - A university degree in law with a minimum of 7 to 10 years practical experience, preferably a combination of litigation, corporate and commercial law department of a law firm and/or in-house legal department.   - Sound knowledge, technical skills and experience in legal matters such as corporate and commercial laws related to trade practices, sales of goods, company secretarial, etc.; cross border transactions such as joint ventures and M&As, antitrust regulations, environmental, health and safety regulations; third party liability; intellectual property rights and litigation management and strategy.   - Experience in conducting compliance investigations and litigation-related investigations such as early case assessment.   - The candidate should preferably have had international exposure in work experience through transactions or responsibility
