KPMG Global Services (KGS) is a joint venture setup between KPMG INTERNATIONAL, Europe, US & India as a global capability hub to provide professional services to KPMG member firms.  Role Summary Description:  - Support client engagements focused on Big Data and Advanced Business Analytics in diverse domains such as product development, marketing research, pricing, public policy, optimization, and risk management  - Build and maintain infrastructure to support data collection, ETL and analysis  - Interface with databases (SQL, NoSQL, HDFS) to extract, transform and load data  - Implement algorithms and software needed to perform analyses  - Process data in large-scale environments, in Amazon EC2, Storm, Hadoop, Spark  - Analyze data using R, Python, Java, and open source packages  - Analyze and model structured data using advanced statistical methods  - Build recommendation engines, spam classifiers, sentiment analyzers, classifiers for unstructured and semi-structured data  - Cluster large amount of user generated content   - Build recommendation engines, spam classifiers, sentiment analyzers, classifiers for unstructured and semi-structured data  - Communicate results and educate others through reports and presentations  Expected Skills:  - Bachelor or higher degree in computer science or related fields  - Proficient in one or more of modern programming language such as Ruby, Python, Java, C++, etc; proficiency in analysis (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab) packages  - Experience and ability to work in a Unix/Linux environment, and proficient in command-line scripting  - Ability to implement, maintain, and troubleshoot big data infrastructure, such as distributed processing paradigms, stream processing, and databases, such as Hadoop, Storm, SQL, Solr  - Strong mathematical background with ability to understand algorithms and methods from a mathematical viewpoint and an intuitive viewpoint  - Ability to break down complex problems, and develop strategies that prioritize key areas  - Experience of processing large dataset in a cloud environment  - Experience working with large datasets and problems  - Experience in machine learning, natural language processing and/or information retrieval  - Knowledgeable with search engines, spam detection, recommendation systems, and/or social networks  - Strong data extraction and processing, using MapReduce, Pig, and/or Hive preferredStrong data extraction and processing, using MapReduce, Pig, and/or Hive preferred  Experience:  - Minimum 12 yrs of overall experience with at least 2-3 yrs of experience in Managing Big Data Projects.
