Background

The Firm JLT India is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Jardine Matheson owned, Jardine Lloyd Thompson group (JLT). The group is in the business of Employee Benefits and Insurance Broking and has its presence through 110 companies in over 36 countries.

Teams A key member of the JLT India team, working as a part of the in house robotics techno functional center of excellence, development and support of robotics for the Group Operating companies

Role Description

Role Requirements

The principle role of the Lead Developer is to lead planning and implementation of technical requirements to support deployment of robotics (New development and changes) as per agreed scope, timelines and quality. The role is also responsible to support and quality review development and change implemented by RPA developers.

The Lead Developer will have following responsibilities:

- Technical support - Responsible to convert development requirements into specific technical requirements. Further to identification of requirements the person is responsible for planning deployment, liaising with various IT and other teams to bring them onto the same page, coordinating implementation and ensuring consistent delivery of the implemented solution. Good understand of Microsoft Technology will be good to have.

- Knowledge Management - As a growing practice the CoE will continue adding to its existing body of knowledge and best practices. The Lead Developer will be required to participate in growing and maintaining this knowledge and benchmarking it to the best of breed in evolving DevOps and other methods in the world including research on assigned topics

- Business Analysis - Participate in analysis of the business requirements especially from a technical systems standpoint

- Communicating and Presenting - Effectively communicate with stakeholders, securing approvals when needed on putting technical solutions into place, and keeping them abreast of progress and potential roadblocks

- Risk management - Analyze, anticipate and mitigate systemic and technology risk factors and work with the team and stakeholders to minimize risk

- Training and Knowledge building - The Lead Developer will train RPA developers on best practices and increasing the knowledge of developers and testers

- Development - The Lead developer will pickup development for 25 to 50% of time especially on complex pieces of code. This includes directly assisting developers with their coding

Technical Skills - Knowledge of systems and architecture design

- Understanding of application development techniques and best practices

- Knowledge of using source control management systems and continuous integration/deployment environments

- Expertise in system debugging, performance profiling, optimization and unit testing

- Strong hands-on experience with agile development methodologies Previous hands on experience as a BA will be an added advantage

- Knowledge of DevOps and evolving technologies will be an added advantage

- Relevant project management certification will be an added advantage - E.g. PMP
