Job Summary:  Content development is the process of researching, writing, gathering, organizing, and editing information for publication.   A Content Developer is a member of the creative class involved in the creation, aggregation, or distribution of intellectual property designed to inspire, educate, persuade, entertain or inform the user. Content may consist of prose, graphics, pictures, recordings, movies or other media.  The primary responsibilities of a content developer are to design and develop learning content. At a basic level a developer should be proficient in English, have very good eye for detail and be able to design and create content that can be easily understood and is at the same time engaging. To-do this, an understanding of learning styles and training modes is required. Creating learning content also requires planning as well as analytical skills- numeric as well as non numeric. Since this is a niche role, emphasis is on the ability to continuously learn and proactively make improvements in various areas. Working effectively in a team of cross functional experts is also an absolute must. This job will require working closely with SME's from other teams to first understand functions and processes, identify learning goals and then translate that to reading and learning content. The ability to meet deadlines, resolve conflict and work quickly to learn new processes, build tests etc are all required too.  By nature, a content developer should like to read, critically evaluate, analyze what's being laid out and then be able to rearrange/ reword Text and content in English.
