We are retained by our client Proterra Investment Partners to hire an Investment Associate for their India ( Mumbai ) office

About Proterra Investment Partners :

Proterra Investment Partners is a registered Investment Advisor with the Securities and Exchange Commission in the United States. The senior management team of Proterra were senior portfolio managers of Black River Asset management (BRAM), managing private equity funds. Following the spin-out, the private equity funds previously managed by BRAM are now managed by Proterra, with an estimated US$2 billion in assets under management. They have offices in Minneapolis, London, Shanghai, Sydney, Singapore and Mumbai.

They manage Natural Resources focused Private Equity Funds with three dedicated strategies a) Food Fund, b) Agriculture Fund and c) Metals and Mining Fund.

The Food Fund currently has investments in China, India, Thailand, Philippines, South Africa, Indonesia and Brazil. It has 2 investments in India

They are looking to expand their India team and want to hire an Investment Associate to be based out of their Mumbai Office.

Job Description :

20% - Assist in deal origination/screening for investment opportunities in the food sector in India

20% - Manage due diligence and deal execution process

40% - Help to monitor & manage portfolio companies, through to exit

20% - Support in Proterra's internal investment process and reporting requirements.

Hiring Parameters :

- At least 5 years of relevant working experience in either private equity/investment management, consulting/investment banking, audit/analysis, or corporate business development/ business finance

- Strong financial analysis skills with extensive financial modeling experience in Excel

- Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team setting

- High degree of personal integrity, self-motivation, and attention to detail

- Willingness to travel extensively
