The Instructional Designer, eLearning provides learning solutions by developing complex, multiple eLearning courses and multimedia deliverables. They will work with GFT’s suite of authoring tools (currently Articulate, Captivate, Epiplex 500, Camtasia), and Learning Management System to design, develop, deliver and track electronic learning solutions.   - They will design and develop eLearning assets for online functional courses including narrated presentations, interactive assessments, software tutorials, audio files, and basic scenario based learning.  Major Duties:  - Design and develop interactive and engaging training programs for virtual classroom, online and self-paced learning.  - Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to determine needs, develop course content and evaluate effectiveness of training programs.  - Write, edit, and format all training materials needed for each program including: facilitator scripts, story boards, tutorials, webinars, videos, and other training media as needed.  - Evaluate effectiveness of training programs through surveys, interviews and analysis with internal and external stakeholders.  - Deliver on all stages of a project from start-up to finish within the established timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects to successful completion.  - Flexibility to learn new products and technologies quickly and have the versatility to move from product to product as needed.  - Responsible for effective management and timely delivery of courseware e-learning development projects  - Independently investigate sources for developing course content and design as needed.  - Reports status of course development and adherence on regularly scheduled intervals to be used by management to determine department direction.  - Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to increase the quality and effectiveness of eLearning course content, presentation and delivery based on user feedback and industry research in the areas of adult learning methodology and the delivery of web based training.  - Establish instructional design and development standards for all existing and future training materials that support continued quality, speed of delivery, and learning reinforcement.  - Maintains resource library of e-learning materials.  - Assist other e-Learning Developers by sharing knowledge   - Ability to design engaging, interactive courses for adult learners in an online (asynchronous and synchronous) delivery modality, deployed within and outside of an LMS  - Strong background in computer technology and/or use of LMS (SCORM and AICC experience)  - Basic understanding of data transmission constraints (bandwidth) as they pertain to media size/design to accommodate remote, client site employees  Knowledge / Skills:  - ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) - Industry standard training development.  - System and software skills: Technical use of software and applications tools.  - Authoring: Training specific development tools: Camtasia, Articulate, and Captivate.  - MS Office: Microsoft Office standards: Word and PowerPoint.  - Project Management.   - Knowledge of project management lifecycle (planning, organizing, securing, managing, leading, and controlling resources to achieve specific goals goals); for higher level competencies, execution and management of project life cycles.  Knowledge / Skills / Experience Required:  - 5 - 7 years’ experience designing, developing, and implementing CBT / WBT learning solutions utilizing eLearning authoring tools  - Understanding of Adult Learning Theories and instructional design methodologies  - Demonstrate technical skills in online training video/course recording, editing, creating, and maintaining styles in Word, developing visual PowerPoint presentations. (i.e.; Microsoft Office, Captivate, Articulate, Camtasia, etc.)  - Demonstrated ability to develop detailed storyboards, scripts and building online learning courseware.  - CBT authoring tools experience preferred (i.e.; Captivate, Articulate, etc.)  - Proficiency using Adobe eLearning Suite (Captivate, Photoshop, Presenter, and Dreamweaver)  - Foundational knowledge of graphic design and the use of graphics in learning
