Head - Technology - Core Systems

Job Description

- Responsible for the build out of the organisation team for Head of Technology Core Systems

- Responsible for the management of the resources based in India, regardless of permanent staffs or vendor resources

- Drive major application development work, in particular greenfield application development in modern technology (e.g. cloud native applications, big data, analytics, machine learning frameworks).

- Drive and coach the application development teams on development best practices to deliver high quality software, in a continuous integration / continuous delivery model

- Drive the organisation set up, recruitment and retention of resources

- Drive major strategic transformation in culture and technology practices be it in Agile or DevOps

- Drive end-to-end delivery of technology application services to the businesses

- Manage key vendor relationship in India, including vendor performance, and negotiation

- Setup and drive proper governance with key stakeholders to ensure transparency around key performance indicators for the team

- Partner with the regional application delivery teams to provide required technology support across application development, testing and production support

- Setup the right application delivery team and support model

- Manage the financials for the team, ensuring that the team stays on budget

- Manage all local regulatory and audit matters, facing off to the relevant regulator/audit point of contact.

- Drive continuous improvement in application delivery services including Agile practices, continuous delivery and so on

Required Experience/Skills:

- At least 15-20 years experience in technology industry.

- Prior experience driving and managing application development for mission critical systems.

- Candidate should have hands-on application development experience of a mission critical systems.

Technical Skills

Familiarity with Java/C++ ; Spring framework, Angular JS; Linux/Unix operating systems; Experience with Distributed Computing, Big Data technology (Hadoop distribution, Spark etc), Microservices architecture pattern, Cloud Native applications and Analytics / Machine Learning will be an added advantage. Familiarity with open source distribution is required
